1-3 = Gretzky, Bossy, Lemieux
4-8 in any order you like = Ovi, Hull, Selanne, Jagr, and Bure in a shortened career compared to others - MiloslavHorava
think in like 10 years Laine might be in that conversation? |

I vote Dumoulin for team MVP - YouMeAndDupuis9
LOL Really?
Dumo couldn't get the puck out of the zone if his life depended on it and given he was Letangs D Partner, he has to know he's the stay at home guy and not let teams get breakaways against
Dumo was the definition of average

Mario and Wayne both played in eras where goaltenders were donkeys, and so were the defensemen they were wheeling around. - j.boyd919
Wayne, yes, Mario was shooting and scoring in a legit goaltender era
There are goalies in my beer league that could play better than some of those early 80's flop goalies

Good run, guys. Also give a lot of credit to the fans cheering the team/the season almost immediately at the end of the game. Well done.
No doubt your Pens will be back next season threatening to win another damn cup. |

My congrats to you Cap fans was left on the other board.
The reasoning behind this post is to figure out what the hell Trotz and co pulled out with their defensive structure. They had two D back in the traditional sense but staggered the O in a 1-2-3 from the puck carrier to the net. That seemed to confuse the crap out of us!
Extra thought: Trotz ain't dead. |

No, he wasn't in regards to Mario. He played the majority of his time with goalies in small pads. Darren f-ing Pang! Right around '93 is when it changed...Mario was through the majority of his career.
Zero argument that Mario was great but a shot on net back then, with the sticks provided, went in without the skill these guys are showing today.
I feel that if today's players were transported back, they would be superior. |

Even if the Pens managed to have won Game 6 and in Game 7 I highly doubt they would have made it passed Tampa. They looked like a team that was just thoroughly spent.
Best of luck in Game 7 against the Jets. I thought they were going to take the series but the Preds played really well. |

Noooooo! I have to learn about this defeat on a train to Paris!
Hell of a run though. Congrats to Caps and their fans. That being said, (frank) the Caps and definitely (frank) Ovie. It was obvious this team didn’t have it even before the injuries to Phil and Malkin. The D was bad and Murray just wasn’t his best.
Go MAF or WPH. |

Well i have to say, the Caps really beat the poop out of the Pens, then showed us what resilience they have this season by overcoming many big obstacles to get it sorted - they also knew how to get the puck in the back of the net pretty much across the board up & down their lineup. I realise the Pens are injured - moreso than they will admit, but I think there's some relief now. Go away reset get healthy & sort their poop out for next season.
Again well done on their massively effort - back to back Stanley mutha Fkuffing Cups! |

Connor Sheary, 2 goals in his last 34 playoff games. Just figured I'd get that out of the way. - madmike71
I was all for seeing if his great season last year could be repeated despite his bad playoffs. He was.....just ok......and then in the playoffs again nothing. I wouldn't mind if they moved on from him. |

Time to ship Letang? Yay or nay? - chimpira
Nay. He was awful this year, but he's played much better. Bargain salary for a capable #1 D, just have to hope he bounces back rather than make a decision based on his worst year in quite some time. |

Anybodoy think we can move Hunwick? 2.5 million a year for two more years? He is going to be tough to move. Sheary is likewise going to be tough to move. |

Yeah I'm not mad at all. I've seen 5 cups in my life. How many fans of other teams can say that? hahaha - j.boyd919
Me too man, remember them very well. Very lucky to say that. I mean, i have alot of friends and family who've never seen their team hoist it once. With that perspective it's actually pretty nuts some of us have seen 5 haha.
I think fatigue was definitely a factor this year and playoffs. It's crazy how good they looked right before those trades though. They looked like the buzz saw 2016's...and they looked like it long enough to raise to a somewhat comfortable place in standings. |

If Sprong is going to play, there's 1 top 6 (hopefully ), winger, then you can mix & match the lines but who Willi replace Shears? I'm not advocating keeping him just asking who takes his spot?
I really think the day of fast clean hockey is gone for a short while. Need an aggressive forward or 2 with an Oleksi type Dman. The Caps beat the poop out of us with dirty & hard play. As much as I doubt it happens or want it to, a player like E Kane should be on the shopping list. |
