Nope. Just its power. St. John River. Water has to pass thru the Mactaquac Dam. They can control it somewhat, but need to be weary of the head pond level above it. They usually dump water ahead of schedule a bit, but it's hard to predict the effect of rain and milder temperatures in a short period of time. Also the north end of the province receives more snow than the south end, so it's a tricky call every spring.

I like monitoring these situations. Remember that dam that almost burst in Oroville California last year? I was hoping it did.. I mean, as long as everyone is safe and whatnot.. Same situation here, be safe, but mother nature always puts on the best show.

The headpond on this dam is 100' deep and the dam is approx. 15 miles from the capital city. Never want to see the disaster this dam would bring.
