Not too many teams looking for cheap middle 6 scoring players. Not hard to find a lot of them on a lot of teams.

Ya. I didn't think that was a strong enough offer.
I am desperate to try get rid of those 2.

We always feel inspired at this time of the year that the team could be made better then last.

VGK is showing that you don't need the most spectacular D to win. Pitt last two years didn't have a very flashy D either.

I don't have a problem drafting Dobson at 7. I wouldn't draft Hughes, Boqvist, Bouchard at 7.

It seems a bit weird but unless it's a can't miss defender like Hedman, Jones, Werenski, Provorov, Trouba. I think Dobson is a can't miss defender at 7.

If Wahlstrom is there, I would draft him. Would be a real log jam on the right side though. Pitt is doing it with scoring, they started winning cups when Kessel came and they added a 3rd top 10 scoring forward.

You can get a good defender in the second round or mid-later first round.

Hopefully Wahlstrom is gone before 7. Stock up on the D. 1st and 2nd picks. Especially when either of the two (unless Hughes) will make it to the big team for a few years.

First round I am leaning towards a forward. Fix the scoring first then take D. That's my choice

I know it would be a rather unpopular decision with most here but I would take on Speeza's contract and Seabrooks albatross. Thats pretty much all 14 million but you could then trade tanev or guds. Send Granlund for Speeza. Also send Hutton for Seabrook and nashville 1st.

Something along those lines. Would still leave Van with a couple million in cap space but also drafting 3 times in the first round. Trading Tanev also might get a 1st in return.

The cap recapture on Seabrooks contract to haunt Chi. Also id rather Seabrook mentor Dobson and OJ then Tanev.

When it comes to someone elseā€™s money Iā€™m all in! The Canucks should absolutely explore every avenue they can to add extra picks in the first 3 rounds, even it means paying a guy like Seabrook that much money for that many years as a 3rd pairing/healthy scratch kind of guy.

Van needs D. To "stock" up on D, I think is a bad idea. If you think there is a defender there that is ahead of a forward sure. I wouldn't pick Dobson over Wahlstrom.

Top 15 scoring D in the past 8 years to win cups. Keith, Doughty, Letang. 54OA, 2OA, 62OA. Unless it's a can't pass up like Dahlin, I wouldn't be picking a D because we need it over an elite scorer.

Anyone else think we could get Haydn Fleury out of Carolina?
I would let them have Baertschi and Granlund, they add a 7th.šŸ˜

BPA. There are only 4 forwards I would like ahead of Dobson. Svechnikov, Zadina, Tkachuk and Wahlstrom. If any of them are still there. You take. If Dobson is gone, I would trade down. 2 complimentary pieces are better then 1.

The difference is, you can trade for elite scoring with D, because D take longer to develop and reach their prime. See Nashville, they don't make the Cup Final last year or win the President's Trophy this year if they didn't have enough elite D to be able to fill their 1C/2C hole by trading Jones for Johannsen or Sam Girard for Turris. Might not work out this year, but Nashville is set up front for a while doing that.

But they won all but 1 of the last 8 cups. Top 15 dman win cups. Chara was arguably a top 20 dman as well.

Iā€™m kind of on the fence with Marchand, here Burrows was loved by the fan base and his antics were just as bad. I would welcome Marchand if he quit the ridiculous crap and played hockey, he is talented at the game, but a major POS.
- Makita

hold on now, burrows never was known for dirty hits, dangerous hits, intent to injure like marchand is notorious for. So they're not even close to the same.

I wonder how many Canucks fans will become Seatte fans when they get a team and make it to the conference finals in their inaugural season

- manvanfan

Doesn't appear Seattle is going to have the same loopholes that Vegas had.

True Burrows and Kesler were jackasses out there but Marchand is taking things to a new level with his consistency in violating rules. He should have been gone for 5 games for Licking Callahan.

Daly said same rules will apply, GM's will think differently this time though IMO.

The fact CLJ gave up a first round pick so LV would select 43 goal Karlsson is simply amazing We lost Sbisa

True, but even though a 2nd or 3rd rd dman could turn into a #1, a player like Dobson is a lot more likely to be one.

That'll be the biggest difference. Vegas had a great opportunity to construct an entire team in one shot with a style in mind, the rest of the GM's were not thinking ahead.

I doubt we'll see some dumb maneuvers this time around to protect veterans. I cant remember who PIT had exposed but still cant believe Vegas got a 2nd round pick for taking M-A Fleury

I just spent 5 days in the hospital almost died last week. The nurse told me I was a medical wonder. Some of the nurses actually shook my hand. She told me that the pain threshold for a normal flu is 200 . My pain threshold was over 8000. They put me on IV for three days and it returned to normal. I had a reaction to a new med they put me on a few weeks earlier . I can not begin to tell you how painful it was but it was 400 times stronger than a Flu.

For the next two months only liquid meals no alcohol and no fun.

Big fan of Morphine
