Sam was good value so far?
- kingcong39

i literally keep forgetting he's on the team. But yeah on an ELC, so was jack. Jack will get his 10, and we assume reinhart will be paid fairly.

Going into next year that leaves about 3 guys. That's a terrible ratio

I wonder how many players on each team are out producing their contracts, so to speak?

If Jack has another year like this past season, meaning missing another 15 games, he too will be another one underperforming compared to his pay.

Have you been watching the intensity of the playoffs?

Do you think his game translates?

After getting rid of foligno, d low and carrier seams like the Sabres are really low on team toughness.

They are easy to play against ( sam included)
11 home wins backs my theory.
Almost by design.

The team as a whole is soft and gutless.
Watch who jbotts brings in and the draft (trades) and free agency. He will address this problem.

Scoring is part of hockey, so is team toughness

He will fight

It's not his job to fight, it's his job to create goals.

You act like he gets scummed and he just won't do anything about it.

Jets are a good example, they've got some rough deals (kulikov, enstrom) but a lot of players are either on market value or well below market value deals.

Prime example of how our expectations as Sabres fans, and reality differ.

Evander Kane isn’t even top 50 in playoff scoring. Is 6th on his own team in playoff points.

People pretended our GM gave away an All-Star for nothing.

These “core” players we have just aren’t comparable to other teams core players

- sbroads24

Laine has one goal is his last 6 games, Matthews had 2 points in 7 games. Stamkos has 3 goals since March. Guess they aren’t core players.

And one final one on lick-gate, #NHLJets Tyler Myers on it happening to him: "The guys aren't tall enough to lick me."

It's a symptom of the broader trend here, that when something goes badly, it's always the Sabres (read: the Pegulas) fault. That's why I don't buy the "raw deal" narrative as it pertains to Nolan pt.2, Murray, antipin, etc.

As for the Pat L. question: I've heard it was because he wouldn't agree to trade Miller, but now the BN is saying Kim was meddling in personnel, which is fine if it's true, but they always stop just little short of actually saying anything.

The sports reporting in Buffalo has become toxic.

Sorry but Sam is not slow, he’s not fast but he is not slow. He has no problems keeping
Up on any Of the top two lines, speed is a none issue with me for Sam. He need to work on consistency like every young

My mind is really blurry this morning, who tied the game late in the third, in game 1 against the senators in 05/06 playoffs?

Didn't he also say that the Sabres didnt get Antipin an English tutor, which turned out to be completely false?

I don't believe that for one second, The media in this town is vindictive and angry. I don't expect my reporters to be fans of the teams or fawn over them. I don't expect to have to constantly read all the bad that has happened in the past on a constant basis. Sullivan's hatred for Housley is borderline obsessive. He has brought up failing to block a shot in a playoff game over 30 years ago. Even when the teams do something good or exciting, We get the article about, just wait something will go wrong and it will blow up in their face.
Maybe Russ Brandon deserved to get fired and maybe at this time Kim Pegula is the best option to take over, But according to our crack reporters it is a disaster just waiting to happen, I don't know. I sit because there is no way a Woman could possibly do the job normally done by a Man?

- macman9

No, bas3 off reports after-the-fact, I gather she makes emotional decisions on who she wants in her team from a public relations perspective, not from winning perspective.
Great! We like our guys from a humanity view.

Both are too soft.
Basically 1 hit every other game?

Who's faster ror or sam?

2 guys that must be recognized as an easy game thru out the nhl.

Hopefully our identity changes. We lack backbone.

I completely agree and have no clue why their is so much hate for Sam on this board. He has improved every year and this year it just took some time for him to find a way to play his game in the coaches system and he still hit career marks.
