Botteril was on a podcast a couple days ago saying he understood ROR's comments, I don't think it's a dealbreaker for him.

I'm a Hawks fan first, and can confidently say that trading ROR or Ristolainen would be a dumb move. Both guys tilt the ice toward the opposing net, and I'd kill to have either one on the Hawks.

Reinhart is only 22 or 23 I believe, he hasn't blossomed into a #2 overall expectation but he could also put up 65 points on a good team. You don't give up young cost controlled players who can compete.

Good luck next season boys, hopefully this year is a big turnaround for both our teams.

You've made a mistake posting here. Saying positive things about the players mentioned above is taboo.

I agree on the Reinhart topic, I can get on board keeping Risto, but ROR is making $7.5 million a year for the next 5 years.

If you can get good young and like you said cost controlled players for him you have to think about it

I don't think you can judge a trade before you know what the trade is. People are way too quick to say trading someone would be a mistake. There are only a couple players on this team that should be truly safe.

What I really don't understand is why prevailing opinion seems to be that this team doesn't need a significant trade and should ice a team with about a dozen inexperienced kids. JB saying positive things about his players isn't ammo for this theory, it's just what GM's say.

Honestly, if guys like Baptiste and Bailey are back down on the farm in favor signing more Pouliot types, I'll be disappointed.

The kids have to graduate at some point. Time to start seeing what they can do. I'm 100% on board with a youth movement and looking at the average age of some of the successful, young NHL teams, we're right about on pace.

Guhle, Nelson, Baptiste, Bailey, and Smith should all be up here next year.

It's cause perception drives the reality. If the perception is that player x is a hard nosed two way good ol ontario boy, there's no amount of data/proof in the world that is going to change that.

The opposite is true as well. It's how Pysyk gets traded for Kulikov

It's funny how teams would be willing to pay up big time for players we can't wait to get rid of. Silly.

It's funny that people still appeal to authority as if these teams never make mistakes ever
