Oh I don't doubt it they are real estate giants apparently way better than the wanger
- Upstate_isles

Like Rick said, I don't have a problem with them having other investments and trying to maximize profits on their new venture at all. But if they're going to completely botch handling important things related to the actual hockey team, then they eat a mile-long trail of shit.

Just move the team already. It's like being kept alive only to be used as a punching bag all day long Just end it already

I have no idea.

I know my dog loves chasing them while they are alive. There was a dead one on the beach and he tried to cover it with sand.

Wang is trash and I loathe the Islander fans that laud him as some sort of "savior" of the Islanders.

That aside, I don't think NYS was looking to building anything at the Belmont site when Wang was looking to get the LHP pushed through. I can't imagine he would have objected to it, if it were available, since he ultimately agreed to scale back the project a bit.

- eichiefs9

I thought they asked him to scale back the project and he wanted his mini city or nothing. I also thought that as a result of them not being able to agree, Wang ultimately took his toys and left Nassau country as a proverbial phuck you to the corrupt politicians.
Either way its literally been two decades of absolute trash and its enough already.

Sidenote : Jacob Trouba is EXACTLY the type of D man this team needs.

You dont get to that level of success without being a super shrewd dude. Wang knows exactly what he's doing.

If I recall, he agreed to scale down the project a bit at some point. I can't remember the details and it's entirely possible that I'm mistaken. I could have sworn it happened, but it's irrelevant now.

You get to that level of success by being shrewd enough to let your partner take the fall when you get caught cooking the books.

My uncle was one of his top salesmen at CA in the 80's and knew him, somewhat, personally (not saying they were super close).

When the Islanders were at peak "they might get moved" my uncles's line, when referring to the state of the Isles, was "It couldn't have happened to a bigger piece of shit"

All i know is Wangs two GMs were Milbury and Snow for two decades. In the "worst GMs ever draft" those two are the Tavares and Hedman picks.

You may have but I don't remember that. That's awesome.

Yeah I'm sure that email was just too sophisticated for the...

I don't think they "don't care" about the Islanders, but I also don't think that the Isles are their #1 priority or that they got the Belmont deal pushed through because Long Island is the Islanders "home". I'm not kissing any of their asses until they do what they need to.

One thing I found interesting is that Snow is listed on the Isles website as "President, GM, and Alternate Governor" with Malkin being the Governor and the other alternates being Ledecky/Wang/Art McCarthy (whoever the (frank) that is).

- eichiefs9

I think it's fair Belmont was the #1 priority. If we get to next week and still no Lou I'll start to get a little worried. L&M bring in Lou and they can focus 24/7 on Belmont and everything else around Belmont and they do not have to say a thing about the hockey team.

I just don't care anymore

I almost want Tavares to walk just to see if Malkin and Ledecky actually go through with dumping Snow or if they continue to march on in the face of all logic and rational-thinking. I'm so curious and I just want to die.

Yes he scaled it back to "huge" from "insanely massive". Not that it mattered, they were never going to let him develop that area.

Not overly-familiar with Nasasu pol's because I don't live there, but I do just assume they're all trash-people by default.

As much as I want to keep JT, it would be very interesting to see what happens if JT walks. Ledecky should tell Malkin we need to give Lou whatever he wants so I can go back to shaking hands and kissing babies.
