If Lou does come, its not going to make a difference, he may be better equipped for NHL operation etc, but the game is slowly passing him & he's made some bad decisions within the past few years. Game is getting younger & faster, rather have someone younger than Lou.

Lou would be an upgrade over Garth, but I agree with U. I'd rather go with someone younger.....

Anything is an upgrade over Garf, but it all remains to be seen ....

Karlsson (with agreement to extend) and Smith for NYI 10th, 11th, Bellows, and Kulemin + another salary dump.

NYI then extend JT, keep their roster, and add the best d man in hockey. Thoughts?

- karlssens

Take Ladd and you have yourself a deal. Oh and Snow also. Almost forgot we'll even throw in cizikas and clutterbuck and you can have Tavares for free! Deal?

Agreed. Lou may die of old age in December of next season and Ledecky and Malkin may be evaluating his performance until March to decide whether to get rid of him or not.

That darkhorse is a unicorn. Forget it. Snow's standing pat with this Stanley Cup quality roster.
- PeteM

"We're going to go with this group I believe in them."

Translation;
I'm completely incompetent and not capable of upgrading the roster so we're going to keep this steaming pile of shat on ice for you to enjoy. Suck it

I’ll take someone younger but it’s a risk. Lou is older but is proven. You hope Fitzgerald or Fenton can do the job. Lou is already proven and that is important after the mess Garth made of this team.

Good luck finding GM’s who have not given out bad contracts. Most of these contracts are bad. I will not complain if it’s Lou, Fitzgerald, or Fenton. Just pick someone already.

Sooooo....has JT re-signed yet?

In all seriousness, if JT leaves, they should burn it to the ground and start all over. Trade the vets, build around Barzal and hire a real GM to come in and do it (*cough-cough Lou cough-cough)

Ledecky will go on a listening tour to see whether they should remove the corpse from behind the desk.

This may be John, but Dean Lombardi also gave out bad contract. It happens to most GM's. No guarantee Fitzgerald or Fenton or any other younger GM will not do the same. I would not be scared off by Lou or Dean.

Like I said, Lou is an upgrade over Garth. I'd just rather have someone younger. Also, Lou's last Cup winning team was 15 years ago. Garth was the starting goalie for the Isles back then.

No question Lou's age is a concern. I'd just love someone with experience and a winning track record after Garth. Hopefully Lou can work closely with Chris and Chris can be the GM. Maybe it can be like the Don brining along Michael?

Chris has been working under Garth all this time. Plus Lou being a good GM years ago has nothing to do with Chris. Being a good GM isn't hereditary. I want a clean sweep of the front office - including Chris.

Chris has probably not listened to a thing Garth has said and Chris is hopefully telling his dad to take the Isles job and get rid of the dope Garth.

I'm curious as to what hockey person Isles fans want hired. We need an HB poll and a blog discussing possible hockey people the Isles could hire.

Was told tonight #isles have not spoken to Lou Lamoriello...also, it was made very clear to me at this time the owner you've never heard from is calling all the plays.

In other words he my be another useless country club suck up.

I'll be very upfront - I have no idea who they should hire. I don't know who's available that can get this organization back on a winning path. I do know that I want a clean sweep and I want the fundamental culture to change. I want them to send a message that this no accountability bullpoop has to go.

Malkin calling all the plays? He is the money man, but does he even know anything about hockey and what plays are being called if Lou or anyone else has not been contacted?

I honestly have no idea on Chris and it would be very disappointing for Lou's kid to be a suck up. I can easily see Garth not listening to anyone but himself. We've heard the names like Fitzgerald, Fenton, and Fata. Problem is the guys that have experience and that have won like Lou and Dean have baggage. Really dies not seem like a lot of good choices available for guys that have won and have experience and that are not too old or that have stayed close to the game.
