It's a depth scoring issue right now, not a goaltending issue.

This is what I was saying after Game 2.

While the top line did dominate the Philly series, the Pens still got a nice amount of depth scoring. They're getting zilch right now.

I think Murray has been better than average with moments of "wtf" and to be honest, that's how he's been the two years he's led the Pens to the cup.

This next statement is not directed at you, but hindsight is 20/20. Looking back on Murray's results the last two playoffs overlooks some of his performances. I think he's par for the course right now.

I don't care how good or even great a goalie is, while they can steal you a game or even a series, there are games where they're the ones that need bailing out.

I don't know his sv% this year has been pretty pedestrian. I'm sure some more in depth analysis on shot qualities might explain that away, but it wasn't like we were playing lock down hockey the past two cup runs either.

Last year was very much live by the sword, die by the sword type hockey. I'm not even looking at his stats though, I'm remember his performances. The incredible saves he made to keep his team in the game.

He did his job last game, let in one stinker, but the Pens are also not getting the scoring they need throughout the lineup which I think is the bigger issue.

Do you guys think the Pens would benefit if Sullivan walks out and puts on his robe and wizard hat?

Sorry, I didnt realize you actually had one. Wasn't making fun of people with concussions, I was calling out your major uptick in immaturity and wondering if brain trauma was the reason.

If you want to reward rabbit punching cowards with tasty lobster, that's on you.

It would have been kinda tough. One would need to be sitting down or something. Wasn't Sullivan 5'1"?

I find that is the theme for Murray, somewhat how it used to be with Fleury. Make the tough saves and miracle saves and then let in a house league goal.

I am also noticing a lot these playoffs that when you pound pressure in the other teams zone for an extended period of time, it isn't all that rare that it ends up being an odd man rush the other way.

What really surprised me on the winning goal was that they even made that effort. Hats off to them, but after being hemmed in your own zone for 2 hours, I just assumed they would be gassed and dump and change. Where did they find that energy!

Some WOWY for Malkin and Kessel (all are between 500 and 600 minutes so similar samples)

Togther: CF%51.5 FF%50.7 SC%50.5 HDSC%44 Shot%51 Goal%46.4

Malkin without Kessel: CF%53.7 FF%54.6 SC%54 HDSC%55 Shot%56.4 Goal%57.7

Kessel without Malkin: CF%49.1 FF%51 SC%51.4 HDSC%50.2 Shot%49.9 Goal%49.2

There's a lot of evidence there that says they're better off on separate lines despite some of the pretty goals they've connected on.

Feds can talk good hockey or troll, depends on his mood. He probably just finds it more fun to troll after 2 losses with controversial Wilson hits.

Huh. Crazy that Kessel's been dragging down Malkin in his most productive season to date.
