Lastly, Holtby's revisionist history on the Malkin goal was eye-opening. Apparently he had the puck controlled on his pad and then Horny launched himself into Holtby's hip and the puck never went in...okay so we now know Holtby is a total idiot and refuses to accept what actually happened. He whines more than Sid ever did, it's scary.

Their entire team are a bunch of head cases and it starts with Trotz. Holtby is always just waiting to implode. Ovie, Wilson, Oshie run around throwing cheap shots but they all have this "poor us" victims mentality.
And it's only going to get worse for them in the offseason when they don't have Carlson on a discount contract anymore. And you just know they are going to pay Wilson about 2X what he is worth because they are the Capitals. |

I'm assuming Oshie gets nothing because he largely missed. That's how the NHL works. I can't even get worked up about the Orlov hit on Guentzel it happens so often (Letang did the same thing last round). |

I agree. Let's discuss how all the post game griping and whining the Caps did leads me to believe they are poised for an epic meltdown. The Pens just need to push them over the edge on Saturday, by scoring the first goal. The sense of "OH NO! NOT AGAIN!" is going to be real in that building. I'd love to finish this in 6 so that big numbnut doesn't see the ice again this series. |

I would like to see WSH win in 7 by a score of 3-2 on a Tom Wilson hat trick |

In recent years I've become a lot more critical of Star Wars. Loved it as a kid, but at this point I think the only two actually great Star Wars movies are Empire and Rogue One and the rest are ok to bad. |

Yeah, I dont get the hoopla over Star Wars. Lame movies........Nerds think its cool though.
So in todays NHL tapping an opposing player on the glove = penalty......Leaving your feet for a head shot and a cross check into the net after a goal is still a fair play?
Its not just the Pens, but all game just have terrible officiating. Its as bad as some of the star wars |

Yea, Holtby is really a salty female dog. It really is why he is a loser as well as the rest of the Capitals team. Winner's don't female dog about their misfortunes or blame others for wronging them, they just perservere past it. Losers just complain about it and blame others. Fans are supposed to be the ones to yell and complain, not the players. |

Ok
Pens played a nice road game while at home limiting the Caps to 21 shots. Nice bounce back for Murray when he was needed.
Jake and Sid are killing the playoffs. Other guys need to start scoring.
Pretty much all I've got. Wasn't a real exciting game, they grinded that win out like you have to sometimes so good on them.

Add a shoutout to Brian Dumoulin. Plays mostly against Ovechkin. Ovechkin had no shots and scoring chances were 12-2 Pens according to Marshall while Dumo was on the ice. He's very underappreciated. |

No Dumoulin in a shootout, please! But a shoutout to him, for sure.
That is very true, although I think he is very appreciated. I honestly didn't expect him back for a while after the Ovie/Wilson sandwich. The Pens really clamped down defensively and I can't remember more than a couple of odd-man rushes. Which is night and day compared to the previous games.
If only we stopped taking penalties ... and doing something good with power plays. Caps power play is amazing. They somehow have all the open passing and shooting lanes at the right moments. |

Traded a 3rd line center for Dumoulin. |

They only gave up 3 high danger chances at 5v5.
Hopefully Geno's peeper gets that PP going from now on. It was ugly, but sometimes it's needed to break the dam.
Guenztel is a beast come playoff time.
I thought Murray played a strong game even if he wasn't getting peppered.
I know the Pens like to trade chances... but the amount of odd man rushes they are giving up are baaaad. Those have to stop. OR they need to start generating more of their own. Last night seemed a little more even on the odd man rushes.
That pass from Sid as he was curling around the net to Schultz in the slot was slick. 99% of guys woulda shot that into the crest. Orlov made a good save.
Backstrom's sauce to Oshie on the peeper was a thing of beauty. |

Not sure about the D on Oshies (little female genitalia), goal.
2 guys being very standoffish marking Backstrom then allow the pass to an unmarked little female genitalia - sorry, Oshie.
I would think 1 defender put some pressure on Backstrom, surely?? |
