I can take abuse, it is what it is, but if people start using their sticks as weapons, I get real pissed. No tolerance for lumberjacks, I will clean you out and take the penalty.

Ok guys stay with me on this one.

With goaltender interference the goalie is playing the puck & has free reign in his crease. The contact is the responsibility of the player making the hit/contact, not the goalie.

So, let’s apply this to these 3 headshots in the playoffs by Wilson. Why do I hear people blaming the injured players? The injured players are playing the puck, they should have free reign. In the sense that the puck player knows players are trying to hit him, he’s the only player aloud to be hit, but he’s trying to maneuver & score. The responsibility should be on the hitter to NOT HIT A PLAYER IN AN ILLEGAL MANNER, i.e. NOT FROM BEHIND, NOT TO THE HEAD.

If you want to eliminate headshots altogether you make it an automatic penalty, accident or not. Major penalty &/or suspension &/or $$$ fine.

Also, the ZAR hit; if Wilson didn’t leave his feet/launch himself he would’ve crushed him still but his power & momentum would’ve more likely carried Wilson forward on top of ZAR. Not launch him 4 feet into the air & onto his team’s bench

I’m more concerned with the slew foot Wilson had on Maatta during that final scoring sequence. The guy got what he deserves......

Well usually when two people "Agree" to fight, they know they are in a fight and are able to defend themselves if needed. I don't think anyone is agreeing to have their head taken off by Tom Wilson... Your comparison is as terrible as your team... Keep trying.

The comment about a fight was relating to the fans excitement of it, not cheap shotting someone. I don’t like the Caps any more or less than the Pens. This isn’t an attempt to justify a hit by any animosity to “your” team. If Wilson intended to target and injure a players’ head, he would have run Crosby, Malkin, or Guentzel. It was a hockey play at lightning speed. Unfortunate, yes, but deliberately targeting the head, no. If you had the ability to read and accept a differing opinion, we could debate the issue. Unfortunately, you lack the intelligence to do so. Any further conversation with you would be a complete waste of my time. You’re a homer without a clue. Carry on peabrain.

I don't think anyone is trying to make a case here that anything Matt Cooke did was acceptable. Hence the fact he was run out of town. That doesn't mean that we should just "accept" that things like that happened to our players. It's even funnier coming from a Philly Fan, the dirtiest team in NHL history...

Well I mean Cookes contract was up after a career year and he signed elsewhere. Run out of town, nah not really.

Play like a man & Not put dog shots on players that can't see him or are dealing with another Caps player at the same time Wilson 'charges' at them.

I doubt he could do that though.

Cool story but not what happened. That was a game of chicken between two big dudes with an unfortunate result. Had ZAR been bigger/heavier than Wilson, or stood up a bit higher then there wouldn't even be a conversation right now. Stop being all Penguins about it and move on, you got a suspension, the "boogeyman" is gone for a few games so there is nothing to complain about (unless WSH wins game 4, then it will probably be the referees fault)

I had no issue with the hit. Elbow tucked, good solid shoulder hit. Drove through the man.

Good hit.

Not suspend worthy.

Unfortunate outcome. but not dirty.

ya....how is that a 3 games suspensions ? Really I don't care for either team here...

load of BS to me, easy to suspend a guy that is not a star...but then not even a 2 to Marchand...that was wrong

It is slightly funny how you only mention things done to Penguins, as opposed the things done by Penguins as well.. do you not see these things, or do you actively choose to ignore them? In fact, if Ovechkin was not built like a Russian tank, he could easily be injured too, because if you don't think PIT has been taking runs at him then you are fooling only yourself

Dirty hit by Guentzel on Carlson when the game was over comes to mind...

I feel bad for the Pens if they make it to game 7. Wilson will be back and angry after getting suspended for a clean hit.
