people dont pay playoff tix money to see guys like wilson. they want to see the talent on the ice. lets not forget that pronger (the prev DoPS) had to retire due to concussions.
- i'mjustafan

I know I've paid for playoff tickets to watch my team win, by hook or crook.

Yeah, they did, and after he got out of hand, the organization pulled him aside and told him to fix himself or he is gone.... guess what, he did. The team also said that his hits weren't right as well. All I see is the Caps defending Wilson at every turn. I expect loyalty, but making up stuff is ridiculous.

I think a hit to the head needs to be treated like a high stick, no matter what, how low a player is, how high a player is, if a stick hits the face, it is an automatic penalty if seen by the official. In other words, on purpose or not, it needs to be an automatic penalty. Period. Maybe guys wouldn't be throwing their bodies into one another uncontrolled then.

Grow up already! Your mentality is exactly why the Flyers havent won a Stanley Cup in how many years now?

Just like Fraud Giroux's cheap hit on Letang, Wilson's dirty hit on Dumolin, and Wilson's dirtier hit on ZAR... AT some point it has to stop.

....

It is slightly funny how you only mention things done to Penguins, as opposed the things done by Penguins as well.. do you not see these things, or do you actively choose to ignore them? In fact, if Ovechkin was not built like a Russian tank, he could easily be injured too, because if you don't think PIT has been taking runs at him then you are fooling only yourself

I don't think anyone is trying to make a case here that anything Matt Cooke did was acceptable. Hence the fact he was run out of town. That doesn't mean that we should just "accept" that things like that happened to our players. It's even funnier coming from a Philly Fan, the dirtiest team in NHL history...

So what? What does that have to do with anything that happened last game?

Scott Steven ended Ron Francis' career, so let's never go after anyone who lays a dirty head hit on a NJ player ever again.

When Bertuzzi was a Nuck, he violently attacked Steve Moore, so hey, if anyone on the Nucks gets hit dirty you shouldn't suspend the player.

I love this kindergarten logic.

EDIT: For the record, the Pens forced Cooke to change his game around, which he did.

god people really are dumb

a dirty hit is a dirty hit no matter who does it and no matter ehat team they play for and no matter what team it was against. two wrongs dont make a right. stop (frank)ing arguing about what team employed said dirty players in the past. the league is changing. hockey is a sport-not a competition to cause as many concussions as possible and to ruin lives. if you dont see the problem with wilson's hit, that doesnt make you masculine or strong or tough. if you wanna see shots to the face go watch boxing or mma or whatever. keep this poop out of hockey

The dirtiest team in the NHL hahaha, Malkin goes to slew foot a guy and gets banged up. Letang is quite the piece of trash himself. No one feels bad for you, stop complaining. And please tell your team to keep their heads up haha.

Cup Envy... it's ok bud. If you want to compare a few stupid plays by two players to multiple decades of flyers players being goons, and taking pride in it, then there is no argument to be had here. 1975 and counting...lol

It's not cup envy and it doesn't matter what the Flyers did in the past. This year's Flyers was a 180 from their old teams.

The only thing we should be focusing on is the single incident.

Hopefully when the Crosby and Malkin era is over you don't end up in Kansas City, Penguins are pathetic. Get over yourself.

This "pathetic" franchise has won 5 of the last 26 Stanley Cups, while the Flyers haven't won since the Carter administration. By the way...Shouldn't your tee time be about now?

No. It was way too late and Cooke was trash for atleast two more years. Savard was one of my favorite players.

A broken jaw is very unfortunate. The hit was to the body though. 0 Games.
