You don't have to answer on here, but if you think that is true, ask yourself if you believe that Crosby should have ever faced discipline for any of his nonsense. Everyone looks at guys on their favorite teams with homer bias, it is pretty natural to give them the benefit if the doubt. (Unless they are despicable garbage like Cooke, Torres, Avery, and even Marchand now) - wilkobecks
If you go down that road, it's a long 1 & shouldn't be closed to Pens players.
Do you think the Wilson hit was illegal or not? Pretty simple.
When Geno or Sid does something you don't like, come in here & ask us & we'll probably agree with you.
It's just nonsense the way you sidetrack this to now being a Geno or Sid incident.
How about James Neal, care for any of his poopty work or are you saving that for a later comment? |

I do. When he speared ROR in the junk he should of gotten a game or two. Other instances too. |

A lot of us we're actually saying Malkin brought that injury on himself by slew footing and none of us felt sorry for him. Shoulda been a penalty. But it wasn't nearly as blatant as last night. |

Just watched the great third period again. Awesome. I haven't heard this much whining and crying since my youngest was in diapers. |

What do you guys think the chances of Sprong drawing in over Rowney are. I put it at about 15%. Even though scoring is the problem. |

in regards to the no call trip, as a flyers fan it seems like a little bit of poetic justice. as a fan of the NHL and hockey in general, its just further proof that we need to invest more in training better refs. calls are being missed all over the place. its like football players not knowing what a catch is, except hockey players dont knoe what any penalty is. that should be the leagues no1 focus this off-season
wilson can go jump off a bridge. he clearly was headhunting there even if he grazed the shoulder first |

Wilson has realized that as long as he comes close to making contact with a shoulder before delivering his head shots he will get away with it. They only empowered him more by letting the dirty play in game 2 go where it was an blatant blind side headshot.
He could have easily avoided contact altogether in the game 2 hit if thats what he was concerned about.
This one he could have easily made a shoulder on shoulder hit but that was not his target, the head was. Not to mention he jumped into it and ended up in the bench. How the refs don't call this poop on the ice is beyond me.
It's sad... Tom Wilson and the refs are the biggest difference makers so far in this series, not the guys going out and actually playing hockey. - MacPatty
I actually had no issue with the hit in Game 2. IMO, if Dumo doesn't come to a complete stop and curl, Wilson could not have caught up to him from behind, as neither are particularly fast skaters.
Last night, it wasn't a charge per the rule book (skates were on the ice at the moment of contact), and the PPOC was the chest, but it seemed like he knew exactly what he was doing. The fact that he exerted enough energy to land in his own bench is pretty evident of that. It was a predatory hit designed for nothing else than to injure (different from "hurt") a player.
Given the multiple times Wilson has toed this line, I think he deserves a suspension. |

Not really a surprise. I picked the Jets. The Preds peaked in February. Nice try though. |

such a stupid comment (his not yours). why would anyone defend a dirty hit/player from their own team? it doesnt make you a better fan to blindly support everything one of your players does |

When it comes to both trips I honestly think the officials don't want to make those calls in a close game. They don't want it to decide the out come. But it does anyway as they directly lead to goals being scored. |

Yeah, that was brutal, but not surprising. The Preds haven't been able to put teams away lately and, let's face it, Pekka isn't a championship goalie. I think the Jets are the better team so I"m not expecting much.
Now let's get back to the Pens fandom whining... |

People don't do it intentionally but it is human nature, so my point was, with a hit like this that isn't black or white, if it happens to your team, you are far more likely to see it as dirty, and vice versa, kind of like when Crosby chopped of someone's finger and the average PIT fan said "hockey play gone bad" or something to that effect. It's not that hard to understand |

Oddly enough some fans believe that though. I used to go to this bar in Tampa to watch Steelers games and it (frank)ing annoyed the poop out of me because the ENTIRE bar would moan and groan when it'd be an egregious penalty committed by the Steelers. I think I watched 3 games there, and said enough is enough. They also tried to rename the Philly Cheesesteak to the Pittsburgh Steak Sandwich. I was pretty pissed at that too. If you're gonna call anything a Pittsburgh sandwich, put (frank)ing fries and coleslaw on it. You just look stupid, otherwise. |

This is correct. Like you said, it's human nature to give your favorite team/player the benefit of the doubt. |
