Montreal is not in a totally awful place if the right person was running the show. They are set up for a nice quick turnaround like New Jersey. Galchenyuk Drouin Lehtkonen Poehling plus this years 3rd overall. Mete Juulsen on D and they say Bourque and Brook are really good. Next years awesome draft is loaded with Centers in the top 10 that can step in right away. Trade Pacioretty and Gallagher for great returns. Tank next year. Trade Price if someone will take the contract. Retain a couple million per if you have to.

Problem is MB won’t trade anybody and sign Plekanec and Stasny to bad contracts. Maybe bring over Voynov. A bounce back season from Price and Montreal is right back in the poop pile. Border line playoff team with no shot of winning and selecting 20 something overall

We'd be lucky to get Tanner.

The 3rd overall pick would certainly open the door for conversation on Cody!

We need a little optimism on this team.

Is he half full?

Do you have a favorite team?

Just looking at your recent posting history. You like the "drop a bomb and leave" method, it seems. Well, thanks for your opinion, if that is what it was. Next time, maybe stick around to defend it, or discuss it.

Bergevin has done a solid job with Pacioretty. because now he either has to trade him as a pending UFA coming off the worst year of his career, or he has to sign him long term and pay him as a first line forward through the declining years of his career, a la Carey Price.

we can criticize Bergevin for a lot of things, but there might not be a better general manager in all of professional sports when it comes to asset management. he is an absolute genius.

How do you like the Dolphins draft? I’m not sold on the LB they took but I liked it for the most part.

i didn't really pay attention to it. i see no reason to expect more than 6-8 wins from them for the foreseeable future.

you won't be saying that when John Tavares fulfills his lifelong dream and signs with the Canadiens. only in his wildest dreams could he have imagined he would one day be dishing the puck to the likes of Alex Galchenyuk and Arturri Lekhonen.

I'd still be willing to gamble a late 2nd on him.

I think it really depends on how #17 plays. It's a make or break year for him for sure. They should have one of the better secondaries in the league now but i'm afraid they could become quite easy to run the ball on.

No way.
