Self pity?
I thought we were going to be at 9OA after we tried to catch Chicago. What a bunch of clowns. - VanHockeyGuy

Hi.
Not sure how JVR is a surprise to anyone... Rumoured a few times during the year and fills the scoring LW hole that JB's been talking about for 2-3 years.
We're almost certainly going to get someone to play 2C, though I could see them rolling with Gagner between EP and someone else if they absolutely had to.
I've also had a long held suspicion that they tried to offload Hutton during the year but there were no takers.
Pouliot is our only dman who can actually make plays (therefore I keep him for now).
At the end of the year i felt like Goldy was reeeal close to making Bae expendable.
NFI who we draft @ 7 but I'm hoping that Tkachuk doesn't fall to us. |

I posted this on their earlier blog this morning when they said "Vancouver" doesn't have their name on the Cup and never will. Of course this was after I explained that they have a ten year window, or something like that, to win the Cup or the top ring comes off and there'll be no mention of the "Leafs" on the Cup every again
Vancouver is on the top portion of the bowl so it'll always be on the Cup.

hard for me to say. both have potential downsides. JVR's footspeed will be an issue for sure in a few years. |

two more things
I really liked where JV was heading.
Gaudette's lack of production was a bit of a concern but you can see he's got the skill/sense (not to mention compete) to put up points. Reminds me a ton of Kesler. |

I agree. I think he's coming around. A step like that every year and he should be a pretty versatile player for us. Speed, Physical, offense coming around... has the speed and the shot to fill in top 6 or maybe even a solid 2nd line role down the road. If he only becomes a quality 3rd liner, oh well. He'll probably be pretty damn good at it and much needed with the amount of softy prospects coming in.
I'm not at all worried about him being a bust. Refuse to cry about the misses with that pick. It happens. It's not a trend like Gillis and Nonis. |

Motels are bad now. Anybody worried about bed bugs at motels... avoid the Ramada in Quesnel. I stayed there when I had to do some work on the house 3 or 4 years ago and saw one crawling on the sheet in the morning beside the pillow. I squished it... blood on white sheet. Looked in the mirror... series of bites on my neck below my ear.
When I went home i stripped in the driveway and went in the house in the buff. Tossed the clothes.

I wouldn’t bury offensive players with Sutter. A big no to JVR. I agree on Lefty for Kane instead or even not at all. Rather sign D. |
