Botts used him by name when talking about the group of young players to build around. Me thinks he holds a certain value to this team.

Man Hamilton tore Risto in his vancouver radio interview.

Said Reinhart found a way to play his game within the new system, encouraging to hear.

Yet "Gus" is loved by many Buffalo fans.

What is this "love" and who are these "fans"?

just for poops and giggles some stats:

Girgensons averaged 18.7 shifts per game and scored seven goals...here's a list of playoff teams with the number of players on them who've skated less than an average of 19 shifts/game and have scored seven or more goals:

PIT-0
LAK-0
TOR-1
SJS-1
TBL-2
WPG-2
PHI-2
NSH-2
CBJ-2
ANA-3
COL-3
BOS-4
NJD-4
VGK-4
WSH-4
MIN-5

bolded teams are still in the playoffs

not sure of the reason for the hate

The only way I would be signing Carlson is if they could move O'Reilly and one of Risto, Bogo, Okposo.

Preferably Bogo unless he goes on LTIR

Signing Carlson for the money he is going to get is scary looking long term with the money it will take to re-sign Mittelstadt and Dahlin, not to mention Reinhart.

There's no reason to move Risto, unless you have something to fill the hole on defense that he'd leave open. He's not a true number one d-man like he's been getting minutes for but he's a super solid 2nd pairing dude. Take some pressure off the kid and he'll play better.

Agreed mostly. Like you say, the problem is 2-3 years out. Bogo's off the books by then. Also don't get why people mention Bogo and LTIR.

Mostly because people want to push him down a flight of stairs

But it's not just Bogo at that point you have to worry about.

ROR has 5 years left at $7.5 and Risto has 4 years at what $5.5? So if you move them you're signing Carlson for what? $7-$8 million so it's a $5 million savings but all of that is going to Reinhart most likey if he is still here.

Then you have Dahlin and Mittelstadt getting huge raises. With Jack making $10 million already? It is a scary scary situation.

girgensons is definitely a guy you can trade for more than hes worth

1st round pick someone will think they can "fix" him

biggest disappointment for me

That's why I try and turn 90 into a good player on an ELC as well.

Get your core together with a window of 10 years to contend.

Draft your complimentary players in the 2nd-3rd rounds and cheap FA deals

I'm not worried about Bogo at all, at least in terms of salary. The issues start after his contract, like you said.
