I don't mean to be disrespectful, but this is an outdated concept. Performed properly, strength training makes you faster. It's true once you get to a certain point, size does become a problem and hinders mobility, but that doesn't happen in most athletes.

An athlete going from a lean 175 to a lean 190 is not going to make him any slower. He's either going to stay the same or get faster, and possibly improve his acceleration.

I hear you, I was talking more about adding upper body strength, but yes, you are correct. It's still true that some guys at 6'0 will function better at 185 and others at 200 and at this point, I have no idea what the ideal weight for Frost would be.

I am of the same opinion. Given the right circumstances, I think can play in the NHL right now. I think his game which is skating, and elite hockey sense are NHL level. His game really isn't predicated off his physical build or makeup.

He might loose a few board battles early, but I think he is capable of playing in the NHL at the start of next season. I think if he makes it, he starts as a wing.

Agreed, If I was a betting man, I think he'll be in the 183-187 by the time he's 23-25.

I agree, but I don't think the Flyers are going to do that though.

I don't really disagree but I don't see him with the Flyers this year. With another expansion draft probably looming in 2020, I think Hexy sends him back to Junior for one more year.

Sounds like he'll be ready for the next round of the OHL playoffs.

Yup, neither is waiver exempt next year too. However, the odds of a team taking Stolarz and keeping him on an NHL roster to start next season are pretty much slim to none at this point. Morin though, would be taken in a heartbeat. So, unless he's on IR or moved in the offseason, Morin will be on the opening night roster.

Yeah -- I tend to agree, as well. I don't think Hexy will put a young player in the NHL with stipulations. If Frost is going to make the NHL next season, it's because they deem him totally ready for the NHL.

Pretty much. I think he'd have to clearly earn a top 6 role to be on the team next year.

what is morin inj? Was surgery involved?
- ravishingone

From what I've read it was a groin issue and there was some kind of procedure done after he left the outdoor game injured on January 20th. Three months later he was practicing with the Phantoms before their first round series started, but then he didn't play in any of the games.

Frost won't have to be protected for a 2020 ED if he plays in the NHL in 18-19. He'd be exempt like Ehlers was for the 2017 ED.

I wouldn't expect Morin or Stolarz to play again this season based on their lack of participation in recent Phantoms practices. Tough years for both those kids after they had promising 16-17 seasons.
- Feanor

Morin is practicing today in a regular jersey. Varone in the no contact yellow.
