Was listening to BSH podcast and Charlie OConnor said Flyers really want Allison to turn pro and are pushing him to do so but he’s leaning towards going back to school. |

Neither of that is true. Head was not the principle point of contact and his feet don't leave the ice until after the impact of the hit. - MJL
Yea he hit shoulder to shoulder first but it looks as though his jaw took the brunt of the force from Wilson's shoulder in my eye. |

The Sports Junkies morning show down here in DC were mentioning this morning that both Kempne and Carlson will both be UFAs and likely won’t be able to keep both. Carlson is more likely to leave given what he’ll most get in FA. He might be someone the Flyers should look at to improve their top-4 pairings. |

The replay is clear as day. That he broke the guy's jaw doesn't mean it was an illegal hit. Good clean hard hockey hit there. |

I don’t see why the flyers shouldn’t consider him. They need help on the right side now and for the next 5 years. They can trade gudas in all likelihood, and amacs big number comes off in 2 years. If he can be gotten for under 7 for 6 years. I’d look at that |

Yep if the contact starts at the shoulder and then slides to the jaw I'm not sure how they will take that out of the game. The broken jaw is a sad side effect of this hit. |

Right shot.
1) Sign him
2) Trade Badko.
3) Profit |

They’ll have the cap space and if they’re not likely to make a big signing to the forwards group, that’s the area they can afford and should spend some more money on. |

Definitely. He is rising up into the hit, but his skates are still on the ice at the time of impact. You can't target the head with a hit. That's wasn't done on that hit.

I mentioned him last week and several were sour on the idea. I don’t get it. He’s a legit RHD who has been consistently very good. You sign him and then maybe (not ideally) you can move a d prospect w a pick to move up in the draft and get someone we’re high on. |

The Flyers are going to need considerable cap space to re-sign their own young quality players. |

left skate was on the ice at contact, other player was ready for the hit, he was just on his edges and came in lower, shoulder to shoulder that rose up

Isnt the whole problem with Wilson's hit is that he led with the shoulder? Doesn't seem much more complicated than that to me.
If you're going to lead with the shoulder and you hit a guy up high, intentional or not, I think thats the risk you take of getting yourself in trouble with the league. - hereticpride
Isn't the shoulder what you're supposed to lead with, unless you're executing a hip check? |

Wilson left his feet. The head was the principle point of contact.
I don't see how he doesn't get suspended. - johndewar
I kinda have to agree. Not a fan of this hit. |

Then why are so many saying let’s go get Tavares who will cost much more than Carlson? |

The whole problem is that a player was injured by a guy with a bad reputation. Don’t see how leading with his shoulder is a problem. |

You'd have to ask them why. I don't think the Flyers should go after either player.

Depends on what the cap will be next year and how much he’ll sign for. 5-6 mil to me is not outrageous for him and the thought of a Manning/Gudas third pair all season gives me nightmares. |

Carlson will be one of the top free agents available and is a point producing defenseman who can play in all situations. I think you need to raise your figures.
