pretty sure even the biggest haters think he is a good player

some of us just wanted more, on and off the ice

- homiedclown

That’s the thing though...
he wasn’t just gonna transform into a “great” player

Those expectations were unrealistic

I expected him to be a team leader

he is not

- homiedclown

Botterill needs to accept the assets he has at the current position and cost.

ROR costs $7.5 million. If they can't get a player of equal value because the salary is too high, then the Sabres need to keep him. He can't sell low because ROR is overpaid by 1-2 million. That simply is bad asset management. We can be disappointed that he didn't find another gear, but at the end of the day, he's basically been as advertised. We knew the production we were getting, and we got it.

As for your team leader assertion, team Canada disagrees.

They write articles sometimes on the status of some of the players. I use it more for finding information on Players in different leagues around the world. Site shows who they play with and how they compare stats wise as well as how they compare to different players in a teams system, while also includes info on awards won and what the player's contract status.

Case in point, the fact that Dahlin and Olofsson played on the same SHL team may help the transfer to a new country easier having a friend with you.

- Sabrehagan

Well i don’t think that Olofsson is gonna be on the Sabres this year,
but maybe he & Asplund on Rochester will have an effect on Nylander

Dahlin can always buddy up with Ullmark,
and Larsson if he’s still here

Good point though
Maybe it would’ve helped Antipin if we had another Russian here?

You defend RoR more than he defends himself.
- Lunaion

I guess I’d just like to hear some specifics to back up this supposed narrative of him being a bad leader

Apparently the only reason he is not signed yet is because he is playing in the Worlds. After that he will sign. If you scroll down on the elite prospect site it shows that he has transferred from his SHL team to the Sabres. He will be signed as soon as they can sign him I believe. His contract in the SHL is over anyways. There was an article about it I'm just not sure where it is anymore.
- Sabrehagan

I do remember Asplund meeting with the Sabres, and the mutually agreed he’d sign another 1 year deal in Sweden instead of coming over this past season

Honestly I can't remember if he did or didn't but I remember reading that there is a reason he is not signed yet but that he will be signed this summer, possibly sooner rather then later.

If anyone wants 15 minutes of riveting TV you can watch the lottery draw as it happens:

Interesting that Buffalo was the first combination drawn for the 1st and 3rd pick.

His salary is not too high. The cap is going to 80 million and ROR is one of the top 20 centers in the league.

ROR IF traded it should be a young top 6 and young top 4.

?-Eichel-Reinhart
?-RoR-?
E-rod-Mittlestadt-Okposo
Wilson-Girgensons-?

That is our forwards

Dahlin - X
Risto - Scandella
Gulhe - McCabe/Nelson

This team has more holes than swiss cheese. Trading ROR for draft picks puts this team back years.

Really? Selke caliber defense.
played the toughest competition in the NHL
most defensive zone starts
was 33rd in Center scoring with 61 points and 24 goals and had the toughest competition in the NHL.
His 5 vs 5 scoring was down 25% this year because of his defensive responsibilities
plays on the worst team in the league.

Clearly you just read points and think no no he is 33 best because he finished 33rd in points.

Put him on a good team.

Thats your opinion and quite frankly I don't think you have a grasp of advanced stats to understand how good ROR really is.

The other day Nicklas Lidstrom said Rasmus Dahlin is a better player at 17.

Let that sink in.
