we are the 31st place team

you give ror a pass

this team stinks and he is a part of why we stink

and every time I mention he is more interested in winning another Byng than risking taking a penalty fighting for a puck, it never gets answered

I don't hate the guy
I do hate him on this roster after 3 seasons

he questioned the heart for the game, that's a big flag IMO

he was suppose to be a leader, this team has nothing in the leadership department

I think his reputation before we got him, and the myth, was seriously over-hyped

thats all

- homiedclown

His takeaways are elite in this league. The fact that he does that without taking penalties is insane. You're trying to turn a positive into a negative imo

He was more measured on the afternoon show. Basically said that Myers disappointed here in a #1 role, and he disappointed Winnipeg fans the same way. Once he was put in a lesser role, he's shined. Hamilton said he expects Risto to do better with the spotlight off him

My opinion: Myers is a 3rd pair guy who never used the tools he was given. Risto is a 2 or a 3. He should be fine

- jcragcrumple

the bigger issue IMO

once we pay them, they regress

because we've been down this road.

I provide list of examples, list of examples dismissed as meaningless because they don't fit your narrative, advanced stats are actually for idiots, faceoffs are everything and scene.

I'm all out, my heart ain't in this game

- Sabresfan-365

Never said either
If u wanna try n say that 2nd line centers from Cup teams get moved bc of a cap crunch...
that’s not hard to list a few guys to back up that point

If you’d have said Boland, I’d have agreed
But i also would’ve said he’s not that good
Bc even though he was their 2nd line center, he wasn’t “2C” quality

If u don’t think that’s reasonable...
ok, whatever

Ya don’t need to freak out about it though

It’s a message board

You and i often disagree
It’s not a big deal man

We’re both obviously huge Sabres fans
who just see things differently

Interesting. If you asked me who the better player was right now, I'd say Myers.

I see him take a lot of shifts off, and hesitant to break out and attack

ice time is my guess

19 year olds get stuck on the 3rd line

we need to sign him and get him over here

- homiedclown

Do u think we won’t sign Asplund?
I didn’t think it was an issue
Have u heard something?

I hated those road unis before the season but after watching 44 games in them I rather like them now.
- Pierceme69

I liked the white gloves from the beginning. No one's done it and I'm not really sure why, it's not a cost thing at this point. Probably just boring tradition.

Myers is one dimensional. All offense.

Risto scores and hits, and is better in his own zone. Not great, but better. Myers will never have the physicality

there is a big difference IMO between being fine, and talking the next step

this is my issue with RoR as well

Risto IMO needs to be the one to stay though

I don't know that I've ever seen that, maybe bits and pieces as a kid, but there are a bunch of Robin Williams movies from the mid 80's that I haven't seen, but I have seen One Hour Photo and Insomnia, and for that, I feel shame.

I thought it was 1 more year overseas and then he comes here

why hasn't he been signed?

IMO he is the biggest priority right now

I'm well aware it's not, not for me anyways. But if this ROR experience has taught me anything, it's that looking into anything at all is a waste.

I dunno why you're calling it a freakout, Im just saying there's no way im doing that anymore because it's pointless, even by a message boards standards.

I disagree with 99% of the posters here, it's always civil and there's meaningful discussion happening.

This ROR thing has been nothing but a ciricle jerk, not unlike the pre season discussion on how this team might not be good this year.

It's just not a discussion worth having anymore. For what it's worth, I fully expect him to be here next year. And my problem with him has nothing to do with what he said or did off ice.

I just don't like him for this team moving forward and I think his value to the team is grossly overrated.

I agree, if I had to pick one. Our RHD behind Risto is attrocious. Unless you trade Risto for a winger, and ROR for a Dman, but that sounds like a whole lot of farting around to maybe get back to where you were before you traded them.

I think you ride it out with them, change out the lower end scrubs, and reevaluate next year.

1) he’s not a physical player
2) how am i supposed to intelligently comment on how interested ROR is in winning puck battles?
I don’t think he tries to lose them, bc that wouldn’t make sense

Sounds to me like u expected A LOT more out of him, than the player he actually WAS and still is

He’s a good player, not a great one
If that’s what u expected,
then u weren’t being reasonable imo

Quick look at the advanced stats says the opposite. Risto hits, but Myers is better defensively. Watching him a bit lately, I've been very impressed.

I would put casey on jacks wing and leave ror as our second line center

and this coming from a ror "hater"

and I see no reason to move risto unless you sign carlson, which I doubt we will

And i don’t give ROR a pass
I just don’t see him as the reason we missed the playoffs the past 2 years

What was worse,
his play... or the defense?
his play... or the depth scoring?
his play... or the mediocre goaltending?

Trade him for something GOOD...
fine

Blame him for everything...
that’s crap

yeah as much as ive been banging the move risto drum, it's always been as part of a move to get someone better than him.

Im not a fan like once before, but your best RHD can't be Nelson/Bogosian. It just can't. not in 2018-19

In his 5th year Myers was a 43.9 CF% player and a negative relative one. Risto was 48.5 and a positive one.

XGA may be a better way to assess their defensive capabilities
