I assume Botts/Housely are sketching out the defense without Bogo beyond game 10. The Bogonator just can't stay healthy.

Assuming no trades or UFA signings, the line-up you mentioned looks much better than this year. In terms of help for Rochester, don't forget the impending signing of Lawrence Pilut. Pilut just won the best defenceman award in the Swedish elite league.

- SabreWest

I also mentioned that guhle could spend the majority of time in Rochester this year if they deem it necessary...dahlin plugs a huge hole in the organization and allows the d-pool to be filled with better prospects and players

true...but they talked about dropping it frome 25-26 down to 22-23, which is still top-pairing minutes
- Michael Pachla

I hate to make this comparison but Tyler Myers went from way over his head here as our #1, playing 25 a night, to being the #4 on WPG, still playing 21 a night because he can play in any situation.

That’s where I see 55 when we’re competent

If it’s not true, then it’s not true.

I don’t think it’s the end of the world if Ristolainen is best suited for 2nd pair/ 2nd PP role.

If anything it gets the possibilities of Bogosian on our 2nd pair out the window

- sbroads24

if botts can find that d-man with risto dropping down, it's not the end of the world...it would be fantastic

I think Risto has always been asked to do more than he should because our defense is so terrible.

Also Nelson is a UFA....

He’s on 3rd pair with Chariot. Mainly because he’s behind two really good RD’s.

He’s on #1 PK with Buff, and #2 PP

I don't think Montreal would but I would try to get that 3rd overall pick from them

ROR for 10 and then Risto and 10 for 3rd?

Idk

Come on that trade has us going backwards....ROR and Risto for the 3rd pick?

We should be trading for skill not draft picks

ROR + Nylander for Parayko + Barbashev/Sobotka

I forgot I had Galchenyuk in there too (my bad)

3rd and Galchenyuk for 10th overall and Risto

The original idea was ROR and Risto for 3rd and Galchenyuk

I don't think we should be trading for draft picks. I think if we trade ROR we should be looking at players like Hanifin, Hamilton, Parayko and maybe packaging Nylander in there and bring in a young top 6.

The window for this team is probably 2-3 years bring in players who are 22-24.

I want the Sabres to see if the addition of Dahlin is equivalent to a change of scenery for their players, but would consider something like Risto for Skinner. Someone that can put the biscuit in the basket.

Okay but the Canes wouldn't do that because why in the (frank) would they take away from their pathetic scoring to add another defenseman?

Friedman - I think the end of the season was so jarring for the #Sabres. With what was said and what happened, there are some questions as if O'Reilly is available.

- sbroads24

Like I said the Blues called but they aren't sure they want to move ROR.

The locker room cancer and wanna-be leader is an alternate captain for Canada.

I like your pairs, Pach. I would alternatively propose a system that has 1 "anchor" Dman on each pair

Dahlin-Bogo
Scandella-Risto
Guhle/McCabe-Nelson

Beaulieu

Though I can definitely see it being impossible for Housley not to play the Rasmeese together

I could see Grabner with Eichel. Fast, good shot, play left wing and penalty kill.

4 x 15m is what I would offer. Don't have a problem with that kind of money. Won't hurt the team.

If you saw our winger depth you would understand

- sabresfan69

More 3rd liners to play with Eichel? Nice

Because defense wins Championships Bingo! We'll throw in Okposo and it will be like you never missed a beat.

Bogo belongs no place near the 1st pairing.

You're also getting a player at 3 that should be making the jump to the NHL and you're shedding salary...

Maybe make a play for Carlson then

if they can't find a guy through trade or FA, I'd be interested in a Dahlin-Nelson pairing at say 20 mins a night.

I think they'd compliment each other unless Nelson takes a step back.

Underrated, now we don't have to find out if the Sabres really were considering Brady Tkachuk at 2nd overall.
