(frank)in laser by Kane.
- Wetbandit1

No kidding. Glad that didn't get called back for interference.

Edit: Failed interference challenges should result in a penalty, too.

Paraphrasing or misinterpreting?
- Hatboro_Swords

I just listen to the interview
Sounded to me like he was just trying to say he’s not a physical, power forward type
Not that he’s “soft”

The main thing i took away was that he said Olofsson is one of the best “finishers” he’s seen in the SHL

I guess we’ll see how he does in Rochester (most likely) next year

Never happen unless they fix the rule. It's too vague.

They did it for offside challenges this year (I think). I don't see why that can't be the result of all failed coach's challenges.

I’ll give you Gorges I guess, but Bogo is what it took to get Kane, Kuli was on a one year deal and helped get Asplund and you couldn’t ask for a better deal for McCabe.
- Hatboro_Swords

You’re just making excuses

He brought Bogosian in to be a major part of our top4 here
That was an utter fail

Kulikov got hurt, and that was bad luck, but even when healthy he stunk

McCabe was a good contract, but still a young guy we were counting on

Again...
not only did he strike out with the guys he brought in
He traded away the possible BACKUP PLAN if those guys weren’t good or got hurt

McCabe & Pysyk are missed here

yes we get it ROR is the GOAT 2nd liner and no i get it not every single cup winner ever moves their 2nd liner but it is an often moved player, like Stastny

And no i will not be looking through a list of trades for 2nd line centres just to have 20 pages of it being dismissed under bull poop technicalities like "my eyes tell me hes actually a 3rd" or "not enough faceoff wins" or "it doesn't count because the moon was in (frank)ing retrograde"

I am retired, ROR can go (frank) himself

- Sabresfan-365

You’re such a baby
Head over to sbroads house so u guys can throw darts at RORs picture

You said “post Cup win cap crunch”
NOT ME

Only guy i can think of who fits that description is Boland in Chicago
And Boland was never a high quality 2C like O’Reilly

Other examples should be easy to name if it’s as common as u thought

And i wouldn’t say that rentals really count

McCabb & Pysyk are missed here
Until we see how Asplund works out, this is still up for debate. But yes the McNabb one hurts.

Offside is cut and dry. The puck is either across the line or it isn't. Goalie interference is discretionary by its nature. Plus the vagueness of the way it's written. If a player gets pushed and goes into a goalie one ref might see it as him not having time to avoid and he might see enough of an effort to minimize contact and another ref might see it as accidentally on purpose and not trying to minimize contact.

That’s just a bunch of crap if u wanna try & pretend there aren’t TONS of GREAT players who aren’t still in the playoffs

Come on man

- jdfitz77

I will say this about RoR

based on what I see, hear and read

he seems more interested in winning a Lady Byng, than digging in the corner and try to fight for a puck and risk taking a penalty

(waits for the heat)

Disagree
Even if Asplund works out,
Pysyk still will have been missed these past couple seasons

Going forward...
if Asplund becomes something, then it would be fair to revisit discussion on it being a good trade or not

The Kane trade secured Eichel, and the Kane trade continued the fallen for Dahlin. That’s all I got.

I don’t really wanna argue every little point about him

First it was his scoring, bc PP points don’t count

Then it’s his salary, but there’s the Buff-a-tax to consider

Then it’s his leadership, but he’s wearing a freaking “A” for team Canada

Now it’s that he’s not tough enough?

I’m not trying to change your mind
Obviously u don’t like him
But when BS reasoning is stated,
I’m gonna call ppl out for it
No one is saying he’s Malkin

I’ve repeatedly gone on record saying I’m ok trading him if we get a core piece back & not “parts” like the Kane trade

I agree with you about the distinction, but I only see that as a reason why interference shouldn't be reviewable at all. Assuming we can't change that part, I think the penalty should be a minor for all coach's challenges. This also means you can challenge more than once per game if your first was wrong and an egregious blown call follows or if a team doesn't mind risking penalties.

It shouldn't be the preferred way the game is officiated, and I have no problem with a harsh rule that discourages the practice.

Haven’t seen him at all this year,
but he doesn’t seem like much of a scorer

Very interested to see how him & Olofsson do in Rochester next year
Maybe even play them with Nylander for an All-Swede line

I thought he would help fix our locker room

I thought he would make his wingers better

I thought he would be more accountable on and off the ice

I thought we would be knocking on the door for the playoffs in year 3 of him being here.

Everything I heard and read, I expected him to be a difference maker

I expect Shane Falco and got Eddie Martel

U didn’t have to freak out when i asked for some examples of what u meant though
