I used CAPS to show where u left some guys off
Bailey has been playing mostly LW for the last 2yrs
Nylander has played both wings, but more at RW than left actually

Left off O’Regan, who plays all 3 forward spots, but i put him at LW bc that’s where we are weakest

Also left off :
Olofsson, who i believe plays mostly RW
Cj Smith, who is a LW
Davidsson, who plays center (so far)

- jdfitz77

Brayton Wilson interviewed Patrik Bexell on Sunday mainly to talk about Dahlin, but he also talked about Olofsson. Said he cannot create chances on his own, but has a world class shot.

That’s just a bunch of crap if u wanna try & pretend there aren’t TONS of GREAT players who aren’t still in the playoffs

Come on man

Yea that was a quick one minute post off the top of my head. Left off some notables. But logic still remains. ROR is the first player move if we are moving someone from the supposed “core”. If Botts decides to move anyone at all.
- Pegullaville

I’m curious to see who Botts will choose to move out after he does his evaluations

Is Eichel wearing a letter for USA?
Is Mittelstadt?

Pat Kane is in this tournament. Crosby has played in this tournament. On the flip side, so has Justin Abdelkader. These guys pick whoever is available. It's a wide range of talent.

Whether you are put on a World Championship roster or not is more of a sign of your availability than how good you are.

That’s not even what I’m mad about
(although it was dumb)

It’s that he had no backup plan if any of them didn’t live up to his expectations

Didn’t draft any defenseman in the 2nd or better, except Guhle
That was the ONLY move he made on defense that looks like it’s gonna work out

- jdfitz77

time to start giving him some credit for Borgen and Nelson

The way Team USA picks its best on best rosters, it's not a fair comparison. USA Hockey might be the most incompetent group on the world stage when it comes to that regard.

Didn’t team Canada have the three of Myers, Ennis and Hodgson one year?

I listened to the interview, he sounded terrible for Jack. Soft player with a good shot isn't a fit.

if they can't find a guy through trade or FA, I'd be interested in a Dahlin-Nelson pairing at say 20 mins a night.

I think they'd compliment each other unless Nelson takes a step back.

- Sabresfan-365

That keeps Scandella & Risto together,
most likely playing 25min
Guhle/McCabe/Bogosian for the bottom pair at about 15min

If we can’t bring anyone in,
Borgen is a solid, “stay at home type” who might be able to pair with Dahlin & give him the freedom to skate with the puck

But how long till Borgen is “ready” for all that?

Feel free to list all the players with questionable talent who wear a letter for team Canada

I know this isn’t the Olympics,
but you’re reaching with that argument dude

Still to be determined, like Guhle
Promising for sure

Problem is...
NONE of them were any help to us with his accelerated rebuild

The guys he went “all in” on,
were mistakes
Big ones

All O'Reilly getting a letter does is confirm what I already know about him. His perceived value in hockey circles exceeds his production. Hopefully Botterill takes advantage of this.

I would give up a 2nd this year to give Bogo to a team, I would throw in another player as well.

Damn
I didn’t hear that interview
And haven’t watched him play
Was just hoping that Olofsson doing so well in Sweden might translate to the NHL

I’m sure he starts in Rochester this year
We’ll see how that goes

Why?
Just let him get hurt & he’s outta the lineup

That 2nd could be a valuable trade piece

Maybe
But since none of them would figure in on special teams much,
I think they’d end up closer to 15min
