I want my best guys playing the most minutes

casey can play 20 minutes on jack's side and do so much more than anyone else

the gap between casey and nylander as top lw is much bigger IMO than the gap between casey and e-rd as third line center playing 13 minutes

and I want to win NOW

- homiedclown

I would rather keep Casey on 2nd and trade ROR for a sniper

Obviously the Sabres feel the same way or they would have put him on Jack's wing to start with

Not a fan? thought he was playing well there for the most part
- Sabresfan-365

I don’t mind him but Klefbom, Larsson and Nurse are far more valuable.

He might be....keep in mind Lidstrom was drafted 53rd overall and was a bit of a late bloomer.

Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin wasn't aware what it meant to be a generational talent when asked about it, but he could find himself in that category prior to the 2018 NHL Draft if he continues to build upon his already impressive hockey resume.

Rasmus Dahlin is the country's best prospect in a generation

https://www.sportsnet.ca/...s/big-read-rasmus-dahlin/

He’s been called a “generational talent.” He’s been called Sweden’s best hockey prospect in a generation. And he’s a virtual lock to the be the first player taken in this summer’s NHL Draft.

Win now? So trade your underdeveloped talent for vets and go buck wild at free agency?

You need to be patient Bubba. 2 full seasons with marked improvement and no playoffs and you’ll be on the cusp.

I pretty much agree. Button's said repeatedly that he's the best defenseman to enter the draft since Denis Potvin. That's gotta put him into the generation prospect discussion, even by the strictest standards.

If you lower the bar to including Matthews, or even down to Ekblad, then there's just no question that he is. Calling Ekblad generational is silly to me, but yet some people do. If you do, then I have problem lumping Eichel in there too. My bar is closer to yours though.

- Lunaion

I won’t lower that bar. When you have ha down an actual Generational talent on your team you know exactly what it means.

It’s pretty simple: is he in Mario’s class? Yes or no, pretty simple.

Don’t be jelly you don’t have a risto, a guhle, a Dahlin, but most importantly, you’ll never match the talent of Nelson.

Excitement is welcomed here, Sanderson carried that Boston team anyway.

Sanderson..what? Optimism is good..we still have alot of work to do.

Why make that deal? Trouba is hurt way to much and Risto is better player. You have a Trouba type player in McCabe.

He isn't on my team yet nor has he played a game in the NHL yet. I won't make any crazy assumptions or claims .

I'm just saying wouldn't it make more sense if they put him on the Wing when he first got here with Jack

They didn't I thought he was going to crash and burn but he was really good on his own line

Sweden’s best prospect in a Generation is different than the Worlds best prospect in a Generation. But never mind that, because if he’s as good as Lidstrom he will clearly be the best defender of this generation.

I think getting Dahlin changes things and speeds up the rebuild

that's all

I want my best guys playing with jack and casey is by far the best we got up front

Not by me. I am of the opinion that there really are only 5 or 6 generational players.

Wayne
Mario
Howe
Orr
Sid
McDavid

Next tier
Richard
Lidström
Jagr
Messier

You can’t thank Garth and a bunch of you guys for watering it down.

- Larsson_fan

Larsson, you forgot Lafleur and Beliveau in the second tier. (And I really hate Montreal)

I don't think it speeds it up. Just part of it . A great part of it . Still gonna take a year or even 3 for this team to be a great team. A year would be nice . At least we seem to be heading in the right direction. Past few years were burned hopes.

Yes...and be wary of poopty free agents. Notice how Boston, Tampa, The Jets and Nashville avoid free agency and not one of them is saddled with a poopty Lucic, Ladd or Kessler type contract?
