The one thing I saw that I liked the most was that something like 70% of his passing yards we done in the air, meaning he has like no YAC (bad supporting cast of receivers) looks familiar with what he is going to have here in Buffalo

Exactly. It's awful luck to have the puck hit the blade like that and pop it off, but they don't stop play when a skater's blade comes off.

Have you ever seen anything like that in your officiating career? In 25 years of watching NHL hockey, I've never seen a goalie lost a skate blade and let a goal in. Thanks for the clarification. Crazy play for sure. Rask is definitely lucky he didn't get a penalty for throwing the blade.

He would have gotten a delay of game, and yet the Lightning still had the puck so play wouldn't have stopped...

He should have knocked the net off and taken the penalty

The ref would have blown the play dead had the Bruins gotten possession of the puck most likely.

It happens all the time to player skates and they went to the same technology on the goalie skates.

I've seen a player break a blade maybe 2 times in the 12 years I've been an official. I've seen the blades come off about 30 times in the last 3 years since these skates came out.
