If you were calling Chiarelli in Edmonton that's probably possible. - Aaron_85
Why, when did Edmonton get a number 1 D? |

Not saying they should. I was responding to fake's post about why the Leafs can't bring up Sparks next year. - PatC80
I didnt say they can't.....just showing why bother.

I think Andersen is fine too. I'd like to see a better d-core and some more team defense. In some of the games against Boston the forwards weren't back supporting along the boards. - Aaron_85
Yup. That's was a Babs tactic though...he was trying to stretch the Boston D. Obviously didn't work as they closed the gap very effectively. |

I think he is saying they don't need one, Leafs have the depth internally to improve the D |

it's ok to let 6 goals in per game as long as you score 7 every night |

I actually really liked Moore when he played this season. Thought he was good in the playoffs too. Seemed like the only guy not scared to go into the corners in the B's end. Wouldn't mind seeing him back in October |

Leafs need at least two solid d-men. A number one - which does not currently exist in the organization and bruiser that will clear garbage in front of the net, and not play patty-cake when the goalie gets nailed. (could be Andrew Nielsen or Eemeli Rasanen)
And go eat your/Komisarek's hat.

It is high. Especially when morons like Chia pet trades an MVP candidate for a plug.

I don't mind Willie, but I don't think he should be untouchable...but it would have to be for a pretty good D for me to let him go. - Garnie
Willie is softer than Gardiner, they both should be gone.
They didn't lose that series cause of talent, they lost it cause they're a bunch of pussies. |

Is he a bonafide #1 though? I get he's had an amazing year, but what's to say he doesn't regress next? |

We are more soft then grit in every position...which doesn't usually fare well in the PO's
Neither of those 2 will be traded IMO

It would be sad if another UFA walked for nothing.
Also the 2nd line isn't soft.
Also the other 2 softies will also be gone, you know, the ones walking for nothing. |

Gardiner will upped or traded I guess at the TDL ( just a guess, I can't see letting him walk.)
If I had to guess right now...it would be we resign him |

A trade for a Dman would be ideal but tough to do.
Sparks should backup Andersen for 25-30 games next year. Let's get the ball rolling on the future if Andersen can't get us over the hump - AngryWhiteMale
Why?
If there's one position we don't need to strengthen, it's our backup goaltending position.
Hell, throw a couple beers in me, and I'll argue that MakeASavey was the best backup in the league.
Best SV% of any goalie with more than 5 starts.
Second best GAA of any goalie with more than 5 starts.
11-5-1 record.
Seriously - Leafs fans need to think about this. |

So we want to beat the Bruins and try and go deep in the PO's but we don't want to let guys walk but we don't want to sign them long term.

Maybe people are thinking Sparks will push Andy for the #1?
I was happy with McBackup too.
