Alain, Evans, Poehling, Ikonen. One of them will be our #1C within 2-years if we dont land someone big through free agency.... so one of them will be our #1C. Likely #2C in there too. My bet is that Poehling and Evans fill those spots more than the other two but the more shots on goal here the better.

Edit* I am not arguing they will be among the best, just that they will be our centers of the near future.

I honestly think Evan's will have a shot at being #1C within 2-3 season, Poehling is still young, so afterward likely. Evans really dictated play for Notre Dame, a perennial contender for the NCAA championship during his time. He may bulk up a tad more over the next year or two as well when he starts to play full-time and no longer has classes etc.

Well he has a high IQ so there's no telling how he'll adapt at the pro-level, but he'll have to work hard off the ice to improve his athletism

Re-uniting the Tkatchuk brothers would be kind of sweet, I gotta say. Nothing is impossible but my guess is the Habs' best option to find a new C is to try to work a deal with the best #2 centres they can find on teams like FLO (Bjugstad)...
