curious, why would they move a second-pairing d-man with a team-friendly $4 million cap-hit who's signed through 19-20?
- Michael Pachla

I thought his contract expired next summer
Although you’d have potentially 4 2nd pair lhd on your team, someone would have to go

And that stopped him from being in the HOF or winning SB's?

We need a guy who can actually get us to important cold weather games.

I have no idea if Allen will be good, but they need to stop saying incredibly dumb things.

- sbroads24

No, but at the same time he wasn't drafted into a cold weather town and rarely played in cold weather.

Once again, I also hate the points about the weather. From the quote that I saw from Beane he said that being familiar with throwing in cold weather is a plus.

So we have to wait two hours to find out where we are picking now

(frank) the NHL

Doubt it. The Sabres will pick 4th, now go eat your kale cake.

I think McCabe can move to the right side on the third pairing...might even be a good d-partner for guhle

I hope we're giving Brandon Beane an A+ in 3 years from now.

Could be. I don’t like scandella for the kind of team the sabres want to build so I’d move him but I didn’t realise he had two more years on his deal

Their best chance at improving the D (short of winning lottery) is getting either McCabe or Bogo right again

better shot at that being McCabe. lesser role and better consistent pairing could help him. Bogo is a walking injury, crack makes you weak

Beane said today on Allen. "he's big, he's strong, he's athletic" then said counting divisional games they have 10 outdoor games before saying "we know it's windy up here"...

that's a truism...the stadium is often windy and a strong arm can help cut through those winds

Aikman also had a hof rb and wr and the best offensive line in football...the defense was top notch as well...

that said, i'm of the opinion that we won't see allen for a while unless the McCarron experiment blows up...I have no problem keeping him on the sidelines learning the nfl game and working on his techniques for a year

- Michael Pachla

I would feel more comfortable having a vet quarterback teaching him the ways but of course that’s not gonna happen

I have no idea who’s going to groom the guy

Nope. You're winning it this year. It is known.

If you do, I'm coming to riot in your city.

It is, also, known.

cool...I figured that...thought that Scandella was a defenseman that would fit right in with what the sabres want to do...he can move the puck, get it up ice, has a helluva shot from the point...a lot of things to like

Again, you choose the smart approach. Patience, I like it. Let's not name him the starter in August please.

I hope that's the approach...they need to build an offensive line and add wide receivers, maybe a tight end...and in a few years they'll probably need to add a rb...but cool thing is they'll have tons of cap space, plus nine picks next draft, to work with

Except as we saw he really can’t. Zone exits were non existent for most of the year and his archaic slap shot wind up is so easy to read and block

I like Tk as a player, but I don't think I'm on board with him at 4. Maybe 6 or 7 value.

It’s buffalo he will be starting week 1 when the coaches see him throw 80 yards through the air in preseason

And will be benched week 2

Rex Ryan and Doug Whaley have nothing to do with this team, it'll be fine.

None of it matters if he can't hit his target.

It's the only thing that will matter
