Dumba is 1st in 5v5 ice time and 2nd overall and plays the other teams top lines from what I can see...how's he behind 3 other guys?

Ryan Suter faces the other teams top lines.

Jake Gardiner was on the ice for 101 goals for and 73 goals against this season. Overnight, Leafs fans have gone into full blown Larry Murphy mode.

In the playoffs, Hyman, Gardiner and Hainsey were all on the ice for 12 goals against.

Polak and Dermott had 9 giveaways each to lead the team. Gardiner had 6, same as Zaitsev.

There's a lot of players who share the blame for the game 7 results. It wasn't all on Gardiner. From Matthews to Andersen to almost everybody else, it was a full team shutdown.

Gardiner is not a top 4 dman on a stanley cup contender. Given his point totals, he'll demand north of $5-6MM. Not worth it.

The 6th goal, Gardiner passed the puck to him and he flubbed it in the neutral zone, two passes later, the Bruins were back in the zone and scored. It's easy to blame Gardiner for the pass, but the wingers weren't doing their jobs either. Nobody was getting open or moving into space for the outlet passes. And part of that is on the Bruins strangling the Leafs but Gardiner needs open targets to pass to otherwise he has to sit behind his own net all game or just ice the puck. Zaitsev wasn't any help either.

3 goals were 100% on Gardiner last night. That's not debatable.

Now that the wine fumes have passed. I blame the loss on the forwards in the late second to third. They couldn't get past the red line with the puck and any attempts to enter the zone were snuffed.

That's the official number. That's their job. And it's the same for everybody. The guy sitting there counting has no reason to be bias towards anyone.

And do those official numbers take into account scoring chances off turnovers?

That's absolutely right. And when the forwards can't get open, the D takes the blame. The forwards did no favors for the Leafs. And a lot of credit has to go to the Bruins for forcing mistakes. That's what good teams do. They made Matthews look average, among many others.

hmmmmm, something smells fishy...you don't care that Hainsey's being scored on while short handed.

- Pen15

Why would they do that? They're one of the best pair in hockey and years from their primes. Nylander (60-70 point winger) and the 23/4/5 pick for that? Seems like a step back and a half.

I guess that explains a turnover...what about getting out muscled on the boards or down the wing for a goal?

Is that the C's fault for not winning the draw?
