Meh I don't really care that much either.

Its just strange to me when he is seemingly so confident in a guy like Lappy. It's a decision that should be questioned.

Giroux said nothing wrong, but again... You aren't exactly going to be winning a lot of fans over by saying something like that. I agree with him, but he's not exactly going to make it easier for his team or himself.

Its a very us vs the fans thing. Interesting to see it unfold hah.

- flyer_nutter

Yeah, despite it being true, I am not sure what Giroux was thinking. There really isn't any good that comes out of it because I doubt people will stop. Don't give them a reason to do what they are doing really. I don't mean that from an individual standpoint (i.e. blaming Giroux for losing to the Pens), but as a team once they are better and winning more the voices won't be as loud.

Once the majority of the people figure out what the Flyers are building and can tangibly see some of these guys start to dominate more, they will be given the benefit of the doubt. All people did was female dog about the Sixers and now they are everyone's baby. It is just the way it goes.

Giroux is standing up for his teammates. The fans will quickly forget about it and move on.

I root for the Sixers players and coaches, but I loathe the management group that signed off on intentionally failing for 4 consecutive seasons. I would never want the Flyers to do that.

Hexy said the organization has talked to Tanner Laczynski and Wade Allison. Laczynski plans to return to Ohio State for his junior year. Allison is leaning toward playing junior year at Western Michigan, but hasn't finalized decision. Hextall said org is comfortable either way

I love a lot of the things Hextall has brought, but I am going to say something that is purely an opinion and my vibes here.

There is a somewhat strong projection of arrogance and "we know best" from them during his tenure. Don't question us as fans, it's not your place.

He made similar comments I believe during other stretches of poor play. He would get roasted alive for something like that in the Canadian markets. To go after even a certain number of your fanbase is just weird to me. Very passive aggressive. Flyers know best.

Let's see you prove it.

It really cracks me up to see how certain people get SO OUTRAGED about what he said. I am not referring to anyone in here.

Its more the social media/Facebook crowd who are losing their damned minds over what I see as a middling observation.

That was kind of my thing. I dont really give a rats ass, but you are going to have people out there talking about it, and probably some crazy guy in the media refer to it.

Could have just said nothing, but I think it shows a bit of frustration from Hex/G.

Now, here is what he really means.

1. What (frank)ing choice do I have, I can only roll with what Hexy gives me. (frank)ing Neuvy gets injured eating breakfast so I'm forced to all but kill Moose. Would I like to have a guy like Holtby or Dubnyk, what the (frank) do you think?

2. Give me a few more guys that can play and skate so I never have to look at turds like Weise and Lehtera on my bench ever again.

3. Again you (frank)ing morons, I can only play the guys Hexy gives me. Of course we need to get faster and more skilled and a couple of big bodies on the wing that can win a puck battle now and then would be nice too!

4. What needs to improve? I need some more quality (frank)ing talent to work with so I don't have to burn my best players out, that's what needs to (frank)ing improve! JFC, do you guys actually watch the (frank)ing games?

5. What happened with the Pens? Really? Here's what happened: Crosby, Malkin and a (frank)ing goalie that wasn't injured. JFC, do you asshats think I LIKED matching Filppula up against their top players? I'd like to see Scotty (frank)ing Bowman find a way to beat this team with the roster I had and with my top center playing on one leg and my top Dman playing with one arm. What happened?? We lost to a better, deeper and much more playoff tested team, that's what (frank)ing happened. FFS, Hexy needs to bring back Pronger just to deal with you morons!

For all of you who want results now, here are the key takeaways from Ron Hextall today: He identified the top immediate need as a center, wants to add a veteran penalty killer and says development of the team has reached the stage when "It's time to push."

I think its the culture we live in now. A bunch of keyboard warriors acting in a way they never would if they were actually standing in front of people. Demanding the perpetrator be strung up for every little (perceived) transgression.

Hextall said that even with bonus payouts and final year of RJ Umberger buyout being on the cap, the Flyers came in under the salary cap ceiling this season. Therefore, no penalties toward next year's cap.

Not bad for a franchise that has no idea how to manage the cap.

Exactly what my off season needs are. A center and a penalty killer. They also need to figure out of they're going to keep Gudas and MacDonald and how they're going to fit in Morin. If they trade one of the veteran defenseman, they likely need a 7th.
