I like Sanheim a lot but those O talents are hard to ignore. I do think to do this Myers would have to be on track to be the D they thought he could be.

Sanheim is going to be a two way defensive stud. Not trading that for an offensive winger as much as I do like Marner. Sanheim is just too important moving forward for the Flyers.

This.

Everyone wants to point to failed clears and what not which has some merit.

The Flyers were actually pretty good at suppressing shot attempts and scoring chances while shorthanded. The terrible save percentage is the main culprit, but why do they routinely get poor goal-tending on the PK? IMO it has to do with passive box and players (Flyer players included) not allowing Flyers' goalies to see the puck.

They successfully tanked Elliot's PK save percentage last year so they can no longer attribute it to Mason not performing on the PK.

We don't know for sure if Lappy will run the PK next year as Hextall left things kind of open. I hope PK duties go to someone else.

It's not about quantity of shots and scoring chances, it's about quality of shots and scoring chances. No different when you turn the puck over in bad spot at 5 on 5. Failed clears often lead to breakdowns and players out of position scrambling.
