At this point, I’d consider bringing Pleks back. He stepped up big time.
Tavares is the dream signing still. Don’t want to throw 8M+ at Carlson, and I think that’s what it’d take.
I don’t know if you trade Gardiner. You just need to add someone else so you can push him down the line up... he’s too hot and cold to be relied upon.
I’m surprised you want to get rid of Polak. - Feeling Glucky?
I think Borgman plays the same style as Polak, he’s younger, faster and has a great shot from the point. |

He is $4m 4D & lack of top D is not his fault - Nighthawk
He’s not 4D.
If anything he is closer to their 1D.
He shouldn’t be their 1D, but toi it seems he is the most trusted leaf player. |

Tavares is the goal this offseason. If they get him the offseason is a success no matter what.
A top 6 center, top 4 D, 4th line C.
That's what we need. |

Do you think blaming Andersen is at all fair, in any way?
He was you're best player for most of the game/series. |

3D at best & thats pushing it.
Save the money IMO - Nighthawk
Veteran defenseman.
Babcock likes him alot.
He can play d.
Is ok with the puck.
If you have Dermott - Rielly - Zaitsev - Borgman on the D, Leafs probably want to have some more veteran (and defensively responsible) D-man who can kill penalties.
Hainsey - Polak - Hamhuis.
Btw nobody is talking about Carrick anymore, so I guess we all asume he'll be gone as well.

Quite positive Leafs will try to sign Hamhuis on a 2y deal this off-season. - MaximusAurelius

1A-Reilly
1B-?
3-Gards
4-Z
5-Hainsey
6-Polak(other options too)
If they can get themselves a 1B they are set on D. Trading Gards just creates another hole. - Santo_44
Gee that 1B looked pretty good with Reilly in the WHC. Nah don’t need a shutdown D. |

Mathews
Kadri
is a fantastic one two punch.
Third line centers are a dime a dozen, find an adequate one and you'll still have a good center depth.
As much as it would pain me to see it, Pageau? |

Dermott? - Steven_Seagull
Put him in Polaks spot
With a 1B, that's an elite D group, if Dermott progresses.
I want Tavares though, stars get you cups. |

Dermott is a much higher IQ player than Gardiner. - Feeling Glucky?
I agree but I’ve also read babcock saying gardiner has the highest hockey iq on the team.
Take it for what it worth. |

At 4D where he should be the Leafs would be looking great. Again if he plays 1D mins it says a lot. Either poor depth or miscast. |

He looked off early.
I told my wife the B’s would win because the le4fs goalie wasn’t going to win it for them.
Really impressed by Marner though. |

I want to role three strong lines, Cs are important. I'd take pageau as a winger that can slide into the C position for an injury.

I don’t think you win it with just a 1-2 punch anymore, at least not in the east. Depth is key.
Bozak and JVR will walk, need something to fill in that 3rd line threat. |

Double edge sword. He was the reason they got to game 7 and a big part of why they lost game 7.
You can make all the diving stick saves you want, the softies can't go in when it matters.
But I think the problem is just fatigue. Nobody faced more shots than he did this season. The Leafs need to give up fewer shots and they need a back-up who can play 25-30 games. |
