Some players raise their game because of it some players games drop because of it. Just look at proven playoff performers who dont do near as much in regular season and vice versa.

Ovi's production takes a dip in the playoffs.

I don't think Ovie feels the pressure but his teammates sure as hell do. He is just the puck shooter guy for Washington. He won't go in the corner and retrieve the puck or commit to playing defence so he just runs up and down the ice trying to get shots.

So when a team is shutting his shooting lane down, his entire team tries to find ways to get him the puck. Occasionally he goes to the net, which is good but he will never win a race to the puck and take a hit. That's why they have never made it past the second round.

Another sunday day game sweet thata 3 now feels like football season for fvck sakes. Last two runs didnt play a single one. Last round they were scheduling multiple 3 n 7 oclock starts not even staggering a 5 oclock game. Im enraged by this. Wake up NHL

It was said before by another poster. All people feel some degree of pressure. People handle it differently. Some shine and others fade. Ovi clearly thrives under pressure. Doesn't mean everyone on the team does and vice versa.

I do think fans feel nervous more than the players do.

From observation I consider Ovechkin a pressure neutral player. I wouldn't say he necessarily elevates his game, but he plays at the same high level he always does.
