That's where the buffoonery lies imo. You have to wait until someone good is up for grabs or pick a good goalie in the draft. I can't think of anyone but Washington that's facing that choice between the younger backup or the older/higher paid starter. - mgriffen
Buffoonery has been ruling the airwaves on this topic for 2 seasons now. Many Bruins fans are screaming "Trade him" or "Shudda Trayded" or "Where's Timmy Thomas, ked? He was pissah!!!" Without offering up or even capable of thinking up a scenario that would relatively work. |

This is why the NHL sucks..... Today in Vancouver it is 23 degrees, beautiful blue skies and the wind off of the Pacific. Lawn is mowed, flower baskets hung, dog fed and who wants to be inside watching a game? Your season is too long.
The NHL MVP is the PVR. |

Happens to the better teams. Tampa had to unload Bishop and the Pens had to move Andre-Fleury. - winsix
That's what I mean, Boston doesn't have the luxury of a Vasilevsky or Murray to take the reigns. The only way Boston is getting a goalie better than Rask is either trading for a guy in that Bishop/MAF situation or drafting their own, which will take forever to develop.
Looks like Washington might be trading Grubauer soon, so who knows, maybe they target him? But still, is he really better than Rask? |

Boston should stand pat if they lose. Marchand and Bergeron will still be good players, and they have some young guys too. Rask is the only question mark. |

I'd be shocked if Leafs win in Boston. All games there have had the refs playing for the home team.
I was already surprised last time when they somehow squeezed out a win from the 4-1 lead. Refs were sending Leaf players to the box for being punched in the face by Chara.
Last game, elbow to the goalie's head, Boston gets "punished" with a 4 on 4 for 2 minutes.
Leafs hit a player in the head, Boston get a 5 minute power play, and the Leaf player gets suspended for 3.5 games.
Leafs arent meant to go anywhere based on refereeing alone. I'll turn the game on in the background, but I'd be amazed if they dont get 40 minutes of penalties called against them for simply stepping on the ice.

How quickly people forgot the years of goalie mismanagement by the Bruins. Great series, really thought it was going the other way until Krug's goal. Looking forward to the next but not too soon. I like being alive. |

Yeah I'll probably get banned for that statement I'm sure later today we'll see a Tanner blog about how none it was Gardiner's fault and how he should win the Conn Smythe |

Gard's for Tatar?...I really don't care what we get, we'll miss the offense in the regular season, but he gets too much ice time and way too much responsibility. Like a poor man's Wade Redden. He can't defend so if you can't put someone extremely responsible on his side then adios. I'll take a pack of those biosteel water bottles. |

Gardner is taking a lot of blame, and he certainly wasn't good... but he is a second pairing defenceman being slotted in as their top D man. Put him with a solid second pairing guy and he is still a fair value with his contract. |
