Eklund: Who Wins Tonight, and What Will The Loser Do Next? Buzz@1
- Eklund

If the Bruins win: Leafs will continue with the Shanaplan, steady as she goes keep building, contention for a decade is on the horizion.

If the Leafs win:

Sweeny will have a heart attack and Neely will have an aneurysm - there will be a lynch mob waiting at the exit for Rask. (and Leafs will beat the snot out of Tampa)

.... wait? are you serious? the dude was LITERALLY on fire this season.

I guess you could say he's serious, but I'm sure that doesn't mean it's not nonsense. Rask is top notch. Any buffoonery in moving him would be of Chia proportions.

There is no JVR craziness. He will not be back unless it is for much less $ and term than he is likely worth on the open market.

I seriously doubt that the Leafs plan changes at all, win or lose. They are still very early in the rebuild, their best players are still very young.

If there is a D trade that makes sense, they might do it, or they may pursue a Tavares if he goes to Free agency and just move up inexpensive D from within.

Either way, beating Boston isn't all that likely and doesn't change much about what the team needs or doesn't need.

I'm going to go with Neely having the heart attack.

Somebody needs to tell him that nacho cheese is not a breakfast beverage.

There is a huge contingent of Bruins fans that are done with him. I'm honestly on the fence. Reason being there is no plan and no one in the pipeline. So trading him without a plan would really really dumb.

Bruins win... Leafs will have at least 2 goals called back, just because.
Bruins will have a slight edge in power plays,,, I'm thinking 10 to 2...
Homer fake news NBC commentators will be upset about the 2....
Refs (puppets for Bettman) want Leafs eliminated to prevent a possible all Canadian final... Winnipeg will definitely be there...
Sorry Leaf fans, but them the breaks...

both are fodder for the TBL...

Rask won’t get it done next round & the Leafs D the same thing.

True - you have to watch the camera pan over the luxury box(where Neely and Sweeny are) after a loss or when the opposition scores to fully appreatiate their mental health issues.

Another butthurt Nucks fan. Wishing for something, won't make it happen. Vasilevskiy let in 6 goals against a very weak Flyers club that scraped into the playoffs. The 6 goals were on 43 shots for a save percentage of .860. Sorry.

Boston has a lot more to prove tonight than the Leafs do, I think they crack under the pressure.

3-1 Leafs.

No need to be sorry, Leafs will be contending for many years while the Rangers wallow with the dregs of the NHL for the foreseeable future.

The winner goes to the second round. The loser has to visit the White House.

That's where the buffoonery lies imo. You have to wait until someone good is up for grabs or pick a good goalie in the draft. I can't think of anyone but Washington that's facing that choice between the younger backup or the older/higher paid starter.

Bruins lose and gift the Ranger a top 25 1st round Draft Pick for 18 underwhelming games of Rick Nash (11 Reg season & 7 playoffs games - 4G, 3A )

Happens to the better teams. Tampa had to unload Bishop and the Pens had to move Andre-Fleury.

What do you mean? His pre-broken sticks gave the Bruins two power plays.
