Odd. The women on the Russian Mail Ordered Bride site I frequent seem okay.

Good stuff French.

Kinda strange just how far Sokolov slid. I'd expect maybe sliding into rounds 3 to 5 but not all the way to the 7th.

Figured someone would look at the early pedigree, weigh risk/reward and throw a late 5th considering those picks are all basically lottery tickets anyways.

The way his stock dropped rapidly in a single season you'd think he contracted some contagious chronic disease. Sudbury-syndrome.

Sudbury appears to be a sink hole for young talent. Which makes sense given its location. If you're talented enough, you can dictate where you want to play. Aka in London/GTA region or with a known program like Windsor.

Good read! What a story for this kid. Had no idea about this story. Sounds Like Minny got a diamond in the rough in their late round pick. Just goes to show you there are diamonds all throughout the draft rounds.

Case in point, Here are some currently playing Wpg Jets and when they were taken in the 2003 draft:

Buf - 2003, round 8, #245 (can you believe that?)
Toby Enstrom - 2003, round 8, #239 There isn't even an 8th round anymore.

Fast forward to 2015 Draft for Wpg Jets:

Mason Appleton - RW, round 6, #168 - 2017/2018 AHL MB Moose - 76 games, 22 g, 44 a, 66pts, + 14. First year pro.
Sami Niku - LD, round 7, #198 - 2017/2018 AHL MB Moose - 76 games, 16 g, 38 a, 54pts, + 17. First year pro.

Interesting read Adam. Especially being a Wild fan. Hasn't been much talk about Sokolov round these parts yet.

Doesn't sound like Kaprizov will be here any time soon, if ever...
