so both our goalies need surgery again? jesus we won't be able to trade either of them
- 2Real

Yeah but you could probably waive either without worry of either them being claimed.

Wait, that is equally as terrible.

All is true. I adjusted my thinking he will get a bit more. I would be comfortable giving him the same contract ekblad got. I don’t see it differing much from that
- Just5

No, it's not all true. Using the Suter contract as a comparable is maybe the worst comparable you could come up with.

Admire his courage but there is no way in hell Provorov should've been playing on Sunday. Careless decision by the training + coaching staff and organization not to rule him out. Even worse decision not to dress 7 D knowing how injured he was.
- Baxter27

I actually agree with this post.

Knowing the extent of Provy's injury, I would have dressed Sanheim as the 7th d-man to take some minutes and pressure off Provy. It was obvious he was struggling and playing a lot less than he was capable of carrying around a numb arm. To throw him out there for 20 plus minutes was unnecessary and dangerous.

Why not sit Weise? Did we really need his 7 1/2 minutes of stellar play?

The buyout cost for Neuvy will be $750,000 in 19-20.

Well, I guess we can put to rest on whether Simmonds was playing hurt.

Good lord!

- MBFlyerfan

I think we can also put to rest whether he's traded in the off season based on what Giroux said.

Giroux: Wayne was hurt this year. Things he plays through.... he is almost crazy. Next year, you will see the Wayne Simmonds we are all used to seeing. He's a guy we all love to play with.

Well, I don't know if that puts to rest whether he is traded in the off season or not, that could still happen. What it does put to rest is the idea that he's washed up. He put up decent offensive totals despite those injuries. His total game was not there, but he still put up decent scoring numbers.

You know, this is hockeybuzz, we have to go off the deep end with everything. This player blows, this guy is no good to the embarrassing tirades that many went on during the Pens series that Hakstol needs to be fired because he scratched one player, or so and so minutes played weren't right. Now we have go all in in excess and go after Taveras, and we can trade Voracek, and on and on.

I'd still consider it depending on the offer. But they would most likely get a better deal in season after he shows he's back at full strength. Their leverage is at it's lowest right now if they'd want to move him anytime soon.

I don't know why you would want to move any of the guys who provide what the Flyers are already short on. Of course I said the same thing last year and they moved Schenn.

I just don't think Hextall wants to let his players down by trading a guy who they respect and see as big part of the team. If he wants them to take the next step he can't unload key parts of the team each off season.

Maybe not, but he'll still do what he believes is best for the team. If an offer is given that's too good to pass up...

I wouldn't blame him for that but I don't see an offer good enough to change his mind likely.

Not to mention the posters calling gudas a moron for his involvement in an accidental practice collision! I too have to remind myself that it’s hockeybuzz after all

If you're insinuating that I called Gudas a moron, you'd be incorrect. If you're not, then I apologize in advance.

Simmonds injury summary: torn pelvis since training camp (likely needs surgery). Then pulled groin. Then ankle fracture. 4 hours of dental surgery then multiple tooth extractions. Then torn thumb ligaments, which was only injury he sat out to heal.
- MBFlyerfan

JFC he’s a (frank)ing warrior.

Have to wonder though, would both he and the team have been better off if he just had the surgery during camp?

I would miss the element of physicality and toughness he brings....they are already considered a very soft team even if they don’t move him....
