I call BS. Gortons house is on a concrete slab, no basement.

I thought Gorton lived with Sather?

I wonder if he is still in the shadows a bit. I hope not. Don't want the GM having a cigar looking over his shoulder all the time.

Time for Sather to go already. You need one boss or you run into the Lou and Shanny situation.

Yeah, thats an odd one. I mean I know Gorts was kind of under Sathers wing for a little, which is fine, but once he became GM let him run the show.

5. This is me thinking out loud, but I’d be curious to see if the Islanders ask to speak to Lamoriello should Toronto not keep him in the same position. Son Chris is already there, and Lamoriello has a good relationship with GM Garth Snow. There’s some logic to it.

6. There was a rumour floating around the league that Dean Lombardi was a consideration for the Islanders. But I don’t believe that’s happening.

Lou makes so much sense chief. He is a winner and knows the area and his son works for the team and topping the Rangers and Devils has to be something Lou thinks about.

I read this article and it reminded me of a convo we had years ago. This article praised Marc Hunter who the leafs brought in as assistant GM. He was a huge guy in the OHL and ironically the leafs for years has no one from Ontario. I remember hearing about him from my buddy who coaches in the Q and here we are a few years later and he’s the one responsible for drafting Mitch Marner against Shanny and Co’s Wishes. It’s guys like Hunter who the isles need to help whatever President/GM is hired. The drafting needs to be better period.

All joking aside, I’d take anyone not named Garth Snow. This includes gun slinging Lombardi

I'm feeling strangely hopeful. I like Chris will be representing the Isles for the Draft Lottery Saturday. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Although it would be great if Lou's Yankee-esque no facial/long hair rule pushed Clutterbuck and his stupid mustache-face out of town

He represented them at the lottery last year too. So I hope it's not a sign of things to come, again.

I really don't think anything is going to be different as long as Snow remains employed by the Islanders. I have less-than-zero faith in them doing the right thing.
