Can you blame people for writing off the caps so quickly?

Anyway, I'm not sure you can say the Pens have more pressure. Do two cups and the chance for a third straight create more pressure or less for them? They have dynasty potential (if they're not already one), or you could say they've already won twice, who cares if they lose.

I think the caps and the fact they keep losing to the Pens gives them more pressure. They better win game 1.

Still, I think Pens in 6 is the most realistic prediction.

Caps vs Pens. The song remains the same. Holtby’s Achilles heel is the Pens, so there’s that thing. Sid puts it into another gear vs Ovie. The Caps defense has Orpik.
Gonna go with Pens.

As weird as it might be. I think the Pens have more pressure. Everyone seems to be writing off the Caps before the series even starts

Which team has created more diamonds?

Pens in 3. Guentzel will score 666 goals.

Past history is just that.

Analytics cannot predict sweet (frank) all.

New series, new environment, new data = new result.

Who is healty, who is injured, who has a stable relationship, who is on the prowl, who is mind (frank)ed, who is rearing ready to go, who is in form, who isn't, who feels pressure, who enjoys the moment, who will rise to the challenge, who will fail?

I'm hoping for a Pens win, but don't know which Pens team will be present & accounted for.

I just hope nobody thinks they're playing (frank)ing baseball - looking at you Ovechkin you (frank)ing grub!

The definition of predict:

say or estimate that (a specified thing) will happen in the future or will be a consequence of something.

Analyticts is data that help you predict the outcome of a certain event. There are far more viable factors (that we can track) then the ones you are spewing out above. Those factors can help you predict who will win this series.

But if all predictions came true, there would be not sportsbetting in this world. Its a question of probability, not guarantees.

No, no it doesn't. Otherwise, there would be analysts telling us who will win & giving us the exact circumstances.

There are too many dynamic events in hockey to be able to predict anything. Your statement is why people don't like analytics, especially when challenged we always hear that it's only a tool that can help evaluate a game or player. You are now telling me that is not so.

Not at all. Your comment about analytics is way off the mark, now don't try & strawman it!

So funny that individuals like Steamer & now you that say poop about analytics are pretty quickly turned around when challenged.

Tomorrow, like Steamer, there will be denial that you said what you did above. It's stupidity & like Steamer it starts with a crack at someone thinking you will look awesome by quoting some type of rhetoric about analytics. Better off finding something to do at work.

I have to say in all honesty, I am over this....the NHL should sit down after the season and decide on a better playoff format. While, the Capitals are the 1970's version of the Houston Oilers always knocking on the door but never able to beat the Steelers....at some point those playoff games ended. I do not care who wins or who loses this series, just please put it out of its misery. This is like watching reruns of reruns.

This is getting a tad tiresome, while everyone in the media is going to try to make this series look like The Thrilla in Manilla, let's just skip the NHL Playoff mind games and silliness. Somone please sit down after the season and take a vote and ask how many of us are sick of seeing the Pen-Caps in the playoffs?

Please, will sane minds step in and "Stop The Madness?" Please?

I agree that the Pens have more pressure, but I think that the idea of a 3-peat and really nailing home his legacy is a factor for Sid. He's already playing great hockey, he always elevates his game against Ovy, and I think the idea of winning 4 cups (3 in a row) is going to make him play even better.

I still have faith in Pittsburgh. I know the collective idea is that people are sick of them and the pundits want to get behind the story of Washington finally breaking thru. I say to hell with both of those ideas. Penguins in Six.
