Manning isnt a bad 6th or 7th defenseman, Whoever thinks otherwise doesn't know anything about the game. Gudas is worse than Manning !!!!

I think if Radko Gudas was a left handed shot, he would have been sitting more this year.

I think some times people equate the plan for the future to the fact he doesn't have to do anything or not be held accountable for the present...I don't understand how other organizations can do both at the same time yet Hextall is lauded for his patient approach.
I am happy like the rest of the fan base with his ability to draft quality. To me it is only part of the responsibility he has and should be held accountable for the entire job. I like Hextall, but like his coach I am not totally sold on their performances to date.
To me this is a big summer for him or at least it should be.

I guess I don't understand how Tavares changes the plans of this team which is draft and develop? If anything I think he helps more as i would think he would take solid wingers and make them better.

his age is perfect for this window.

i guess the point is does giving him 10 million or whatever it will take affect resigning Provorov, Konecny, Patrick, Sanheim and/or whoever else they have on rookie deals when they need to be re-signed. for the record i would be elated to have Tavares, Couturier, Patrick and Laughton as the 4 centers not that I think Tavares would come here but you do have to consider future cap implications.

meek mill freeeeeeeeeeeee'd

also, as someone mentioned, Grabner and Vanek seem like 2 guys that would make sense to fill a couple needs....definitely not the BEST guys avail, but would make sense.

Coots, Tavares, Patrick, and Laughton as your 4C's. (summer dreamin)

Could happen if you trade Jake and Simmer. Factor in extensions for Ghost, Provy, and Konency. Ugh Gudas (prob couldn't trade him if we tried) and buy out Weise next year? Make it work. Finagle.

Ghost is already signed.

They could make it work for next year without giving up Simmonds/Voracek, but after that they'd both have to go.

I could see the Leafs being interested in Simmonds with JVR likely gone. Not sure really sure what the complete ask would be but I'd want Kapanen as part of the deal.

I wouldn't mind two years of Rick Nash as the 2nd line LW tbh. Assuming the contract is fair of course.

Buys some time for prospects and gives us some legit shooting depth that I think this team seriously lacks.

How is the mood ?

Im really looking forward to hearing the injury report tomorrow. In a way I hope it's something serious for Simmonds as I dont want to think one of my all time favorite Flyers fell that hard in 1 season.

A groin pull and a broken hand with a pin in it is what I heard.
