The walls of the Grand Canyon would wear down playing behind the Islanders defense - eichiefs9
It's funny how many non-Isles fans just kept talking about the goalies last year. |

So then might one infer that you’d put an upgrade at D ahead of the upgrade at G? - Wildschwein
I don't even know anymore. There's simply too much that needs to be done to cram into one offseason. Obviously goaltending needs to be addressed in a major way, but the defense is an abject disaster, too. |

Oh good, the Islanders are interested in solving their defensive issues by signing a guy who kicked the shit out of his wife - eichiefs9

Everything needs to be upgraded. On & off the ice.
However, there is an old adage that needs to be followed. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Pick a spot and start there. Whatever that starting point may be. Can't start trying to do it all in one fell swoop. |

He'll make quite a good 7th D-man.

He was a very good defenseman and I have every reason to believe that he still is. But the fact remains that he was deported for beating the ever-loving crap out of his wife or girlfriend or whatever. Not a good look for assbreath Garth. |

He’s a very good defender, but he’s also a piece of poop human being.
I really hope this is just speculation. |

Hmm, for some reason I thought he was in his early 30's. He's only 28. He was a good D-man. I think this is a desperation move by Snow. Trying to fix the D on the cheap. So much for character playing a part in signing guys. We'll see what happens. |

Still lots of hurdles for him to clear, if there is even interest. Needs to obtain a visa/work permit and get the approval of the NHL to return. |

I have no idea what he'll ultimately be paid, but I get the feeling that if he were to return then he would probably garner a lot of interest and likely make some significant money. Not an astronomical amount, but something significant. |

Someone will take a flyer on him (money-wise). I like the part of the article that said the Kings have no interest in bringing him back. |

Yeah they already learned their lesson when they got fined for sneaking him on the ice at practice when he was initially suspended for the incident |

Yes. She was leaving him and took his stapler. That was his stapler. He went to Office Depot & bought it himself. It was his and he defended that stapler ferociously.
He beat the (frank) out of his woman, dude. c'mon. - Isleshockeyman

Didn't they have him in someone else's jersey or a different number or something like that? |

I honestly don't remember, I just recall them being fined because he practiced with them when he was suspended or something like that. |
