Aren't you sick your team drafted Matt Murray and Jake Guentzel when Anthony Stolarz and Tyrell Goulbourne were available? More evidence of the incompetence of your Organization.
- PLindbergh31

Every team passed on Murray and Guentzel. Secondly, the Flyers have hit on recent late round picks like Ghost, Lindblom, Marody, which they turned into a 3rd, Laczynski, Wade Allison...etc. Next!

Oh, right. The welfare-enabled Cup runs. The purposely tanking not once, but twice in the franchise's history to snag Mario and Sid. Crosby/Malkin/Stall/Fleury at, what, numbers one and two, each pick? Please. Any Pens fan around since the 1980's knows the deal about the rotten core of the Penguins history and buries their head in the sand. The younger (Sid is God) generation turns a blind eye towards the team's sordid past. Two of the top six players of all time end up with a team that purposely lost to get them...disgraceful if you ask me. Your point, your post, your team is ridiculous.
- Brad Marsh Fan

On the topic of tanking... isn't that what the Flyers just did this series? Getting outscored 28-15 in a series and getting outscored 18-6 at home is disgraceful.

In all honesty, you should hope the Flyers tank for the next several years. Your top 2 paid players were invisible all series with the exception of Giroux's multiple cheap shots. Hextall should completely blow it up and get rid of everyone except Couturier, Provorov and Patrick.

Why would anyone want Hart or Sandstrom sitting as a backup? Frost is most likely going back to Juniors.
- MJL

I am pretty sure Sandstrom will be going back overseas for next year unless something changed. Thought that was part of the deal when he got moved to his new team.

---Flyers even were the worst team and landed the #2 overall pick instead of #1. So, the Patrick gift was, what, one in 50 years?

The Clarke article rings resoundingly true...we never tanked on purpose once, much less twice, as the Pens did. Where were all you people when the Kansas City move was in the news?

Well now you're embarrassing yourself even more. I'm sure Arizona & Buffalo might want to say a thing or 2 about the bolded. Those poor Sabres fans having to settle for Eichel - poor bastards.

Mario saved the Pens organisation - have you read about that? Would you like to read about that & how & what he did? It's a great story about a great man.

Did he use Kansas as a bargaining chip - 100% in my mind. He kept the Penguins in Pittsburgh & look at what he has achieved. Say what you like - hell even say Bettman gave him Sid, but it's just more ramblings especially after about falling to #2 last draft.

I think your old mate in LA has some Riviera tickets ready to go for you (with a cart you lucky bastard). Are you in or around LA? Damn if not as you will probably whinge about not being able to go over there.

Why are you here?

You won, the Pens were a better team. Not sure what you need to be doing on here. We all know how the Pens were got the talent they did and they made the most of it.

But isn't that for Pens talk on your board?

"The littering on the ice was a disgrace. It makes it real hard to defend the fan base. The bottom line is it happens to often in philly and the reputation is earned"

Didn't you see the same thing happen in Boston and Toronto. Of course, in Boston the first bottle that hit the ice they moved to showing only close ups of faces, so all that followed didn't make it onto tv. In Boston they had to make the same "please don't throw objects on the ice" announcement. It is horrible, but it is not limited to Philly fans by any means. The narrative is what the media chooses for it to be.

Ok cool. When those guys are main cogs in back to back Cups let me know. Thanks for playing. Only a matter of time before Laczynksi scores 4 consecutive goals in a playoff game. I'll be counting the days.

Pretty sure Mario didn't save them. Hell, he didn't have the money because the Pens couldn't pay him. They were bailed out by the state.

Not saying it was ok at all but Pierre made it out to be a hail storm when someone I know that was there said it was maybe 5 cans and actually not near the pens bench but more near refs.

Still a poopty thing to do. Everyone knows the narrative, no need to feed the fire.

But yes, it's far from isolated to Philly.

Totally agree.

I just am noting Pierre was making it like it was a hail storm of can flying at him and the bench.

Terrible thing to do but nothing like when the bracelets were thrown

Well he managed to pay back all the creditors - not sure if that was state money that did that - & I'm damn sure mr & mrs taxpayer wouldn't have voted the party in next time around. I'm pretty sure there's a billionaire in there somewhere isn't there?

I might have to read more articles about the recovery.

Complete misdirection. I pointed out that every team passed on those guys and the Flyers have had recent success with later round picks including a guy who was runner-up for ROY. That’s great that their guys have won a couple of cups, but that’s a completely separate argument....weak sauce.

Now you're embarrassing yourself. He's talking about the 06 07 season where the flyers were last overall and got jvr instead of Kane.

He did manage to pay back what he owed (not to mention what he himself was owed). But that wasn't until they became relevant again in the late 2000s.

But remember, this was a team that was playing to close to 60% capacity for the better part of a decade. Now, everyone is Pittsburgh "was always a fan" and "has always supported the team."
