Are you kidding me. That is the crux of my PLAYOFF BOB shtick The people that constantly use him as a prop to show the Flyers ineptness would be raving maniacal d-bags if he was here and had these performances - KINGKENZO
The difference between his season stats and playoffs is crazy. Obviously things get harder in the playoffs. 7 games series is way different than a team playing another team one of 82 in the middle on Jan (or whatever month) but its mind boggling to see just how much of a drop off there has been |

I disagree.
I think he fits perfectly. His age would fit right with the window for now and in a couple years.
Yes Voracek might be a casualty eventually but you can make that work then. You'll also be free of MacDonalds deal in 2 years and Gudas in 2 if not traded sooner. I think you build through the middle and then add wingers to those guys. Going down the middle with Tavares, Patrick and Couturier lets you match anyone. Now you add wingers to those and I think those centers can help wingers produce. - J35Bacher
I just think they view Patrick as more then a 3rd line center. your correct it would be exciting to have that trio, but I just don't see it...if i'm proved wrong, (wouldn't be first time) then it would be quite a formidable middle.

You mean like Bobrovsky? Or Quick? Or Rask? Or Price? Or Lundqvist? How about Dubnyk, Gibson, and Bishop? - jmatchett383
Quick's .947 save % and 1.55 GAA were clearly the reason the Kings were swept. He was awful. |

Least Lindbolm and Sanheim are getting some playoff experience in the AHL
different note-
Plenty of teams need to re-shape their rosters, Ducks, Wild, LA, Blue Jackets, Sabres on and on...
This is the year Hextall can make the right moves, he has no excuse not to make the team better, not go off plan but use what he has built and fill the holes. |

If they bring in a veteran defender then i would assume someone would be moved out like Gudas. You still have MacDonald and you would want most of your youth playing. - J35Bacher
that is my thinking, keep AMAC, trade Gudas and play the kids. They need some guys who know how to win on the back end. Maybe it is Ian Cole maybe someone else. |

man that would be interesting, pretty sure LA knows they need to do something with their current team. Flyers need that championship attitude, quick has that. |

gotta say Bob let in some stinkers and some where he just needs to make a save. he's paid a lot of money to be elite. You can't argue in any way shape or form Bob has come up in the playoffs. Its crazy, i don't get it. |

It was not. But simply having a good/great goalie does not automatically lead to success. |

My nephew lives in Wanoona which is 1hr south of Sydney in the Illawarra. Newcastle about 2.5 hours drive north. Both areas really nice but Sydney is home for me (except when I lived in Europe & was introduced to the NHL ).
Big trip here, I've never been over there either, got as far as Hawaii. Worth the effort if you have the time. Far North Queensland with the reef (Port Douglas is my choice up there), & Daintree. Great Ocean road round the bottom of Victoria is superb. Just to name a couple of places I can personally vouch for. - Aussiepenguin
Any dropbears up there?

Who do the Ducks have in their system? I'd love to try to pry Gibson from them. |

That would require a ton of young prospects and picks, something that I don't think Hextall has any interest in moving. |

Quick can be very good, but he's also very streaky. His athleticism is without question, but there's very little middle ground between him being great and awful. |

He's been subpar in the playoffs. I never said otherwise. His regular seasons have been at the top of the league. He's got to be a lot better in the playoffs. |

I would tend to agree but he is 32 and has 4-5 years left on his contract at 5.8. Depends if the Kings think they can contend, how far of a drop off will the replacement goalie be and how long will quick be quick.
last I heard LA was ranked around 25th for farm systems |

He's been pretty consistent the past 6 seasons. Even though the Kings got swept in the playoffs, his numbers were 1.55 GAA and .947 SV% which just shows you that it was the offense, not the goaltending, that was the reason they got swept. |

we would probably have to part with a d prospect and a pick
the worry is they may want a first
if we're giving up a first for a goalie i would rather it be holtby |

I just pulled up the playoff stats. Bobrovsky was pretty bad overall in the series vs. the Caps. But who are the few goalies that were worse. Of course Elliott and Neuvirth.
I can't wait to see what the tandem is next year, because Hextall trying to sell anyone on these pair of stiffs is a joke. - PLindbergh31
Is that what he is doing? Everyone here but you apparently, knows they are placeholders. |

I don;t know if he shrinks or if the team around his is just overrated. I honestly thought the current Columbus team was good enough to finally get over the hump. They still haven't won more than 2 games in a playoff series. |

Micheal Leighton has both been to and won the same amount of Stanley Cup Finals as Price and Lundqvist combined. |

The same Holtby that just helped Washington get back into and win the series last night? Not sure why Washington would be looking to move him esp if he finally helps get them past the Penguins |
