Speaking of embellishment... was the call on Jake yesterday legit? I didn’t have a clear view from my seat and the replay didn’t look like much either. - arichardson22
Honestly, I dont really remember it. I remember thinking "whatever" |

yeah, i dunno, maybe. he's definitely one guy that hates Philly and just puts in the dagger.
man, i wish we had one guy that just hated Pitt and put in the dagger.....wait, wasn't that UMBERGER!?
god dammit i (frank)ing hate the Penguins - eshake
He scores a lot of points against a lot of teams, but has another gear when playing Philly, so who knows. To his credit, he doesn't complain nearly as much as people think he does. He does get calls unlike anyone I've seen in this league since he entered in 2005, but that comes with the superstar label.

Jets and Preds is going to be a hell of a series. - flyer_nutter
Jets in 4. I can't see a team winning with a coach that was fired and replaced with Ba-Ba-Roobey. |

you know if you play, when Coots turned his skates at the last second, then the position of his feet and the way Letang swept his feet, the result is what you see...

Look I love couturier too, but a one handed slash does not lift a guys legs a foot and a half into the air. I thought he was trying to protect his knee. Doesn’t really matter either way. Games over. |

a lot to do with the position of Coots skates, he just turned and they were close together, the angle Letang took out his skates left Coots airborne

I also see a clear trip there. Whether you think it's an embellishment or not, you can't take a players legs out from underneath him to break up a play. Yea it wasn't his stick, it was his right leg, which makes it even more egregious. |

I say yes, but who knows? If a player puts his stick or body in a position that an opposing player has to leap over him to avoid being tripped, and ends up on his back on the ice, my arm would go up as a ref. |

I agree, and I can't point to any specific incident, but I feel like I've seen it happen. |

It would also be real odd to see a play like that where the offending player made absolutely no contact with the opposing player, so I'm not saying Player A sees Player B skating behind him with his leg out and decides to jump up to avoid it and ends up flat on his back. There would have to be some contact of some sort there. |
