mad mad props to provy. Wow

Now I read he wa in tears after the loss. THAT's what we need on the team. Players that take the losses that hard and give it all and more. Hexy Clarke lindros and other cared this much and that will eventually get us to where we need to be to contend.

Once the decision was made to split Provy and Ghost meant that Sanheim couldn't partner with the other 5 dmen. I really would like to understand the rational.

Yeah. Putting the loss on himself my be the best thing for him. He doesn’t deserve it but I’m okay with him training like that

With Gudas and Manning both struggling at times, Hakstol was not going to place a rookie with one of them. He's not going to play two rookies together.

And this is sound strategy?

Yes. All season long Hakstol had to choose his method of execution. He got the team pretty dam far with a young, inexperienced and flawed roster.

MacDonald had a strong series in my opinion for the Flyers. Here is the indicator. When a player like MacDonald is able to be used as a 3rd pair 16-18 minute player and the top 4 consists of players like Provorov, Sanheim, Gostisbehere, Morin and others is when the Flyers will be ready to take out some teams and make a playoff run. This is not a knock on MacDonald it's just an indicator that the Flyers have a lot of areas to get better. Spare me the argument that Hakstol has to play them. He didn't play them as much as he will in the future because they're not ready for it.

I thought Amac had a solid series and couple mistakes aside Provorov was very good. Happy with the limited time Sanheim and Hagg played. Manning is Manning. Gudas was horrid today but I thought he had his good games and bad. Ghost.......I am a big fan. Love how dynamic he is and how far he has come working on his defensive game. that is why this series was such a disappointment. I won't overreact to his play but he was my biggest disappointment on the backend

I’m not even a flyers fan... but in my opinion, whatthe flyers lack is a top 4 right shot dman... perhaps 2

With provorov, ghost, Sanheim... the left side is set for years to come... MacDonald, Hägg, Morin are all left shots..

Only right shooting dman that is signed through next year is Gudas... and he is at best a bottom pairing player

Observations.

Couturier- what more can you say. I hope all the doubts are gone if he can be a top 2 center.

Voracek- where are you. For 8.5 million you brought nothing. Simmonds if injured I can understand. But Voracek looked lost, indecisive, and just wasn't good enough.

Provorov- guy is a warrior. You can see how good he will be for a long time.

Youth- konecny, Patrick and all the others at times showed reasons why the flyers are excited. They made mistakes but showed a lot of positives.

Gudas- I dont know. Was never a huge fan. Understand what he brings but maybe he needs to go, not just because of today, as we need more skill to go with being a burly defender.

All in all we knew the flyers had to be almost perfect to win as the lacked depth and had some flaws. While sometimes I get frustrated with lineups or players i think this season had more positives then negatives and can't wait to build on it.

Gudas was a disaster, but that wasn't the only problem. The Pens are a team that knows how to close out a game, the Flyers aren't there yet.

Here is what makes me excited about this teams future, the play of the young players. To me the younger guys, the players of the future had a great series.

Bottom line the Pens are a better team and know how to close out a game and not miss many chances.

The littering on the ice was a disgrace. It makes it real hard to defend the fan base. The bottom line is it happens to often in philly and the reputation is earned

officiating didn't cause the Flyers to lose this series but JFC can we get better officiating. to call Filppula in game 5 on a play where a penguin just fell and not call Letang on taking Coots' legs out is just comical. Come on NHL with this crap officiating across the NHL

I saw Simmonds when asked about his health didn't comment beyond saying he was able to play but said Hextall would comment about injuries. I suspect we will hear about some injury.

I am happy with the direction of the Flyers but next year, for me, needs to see the Flyers take a bigger step. need to upgrade the top 9 on wing. Weal specifically. Need a 3C for sure. Please move on from Filppula at this point. The defense is going to be interesting being Hakstol has issues with chemistry of some of the players and which side some of them play. Have to think Morin makes the team.

going to be an interesting summer

Crosby outscored Giroux 13-3 in the series. No other analysis is necessary. When the oppositions top player eats your top player alive you don’t have a chance.

The egregious turnovers, terrible penalties and sub par goaltending are why the defeats were non competitive

Big props to Coururier. Playing the last two games and coming up enormous with a torn MCL shows so much leadership, heart and guts. Also kudos to Provorov giving it a go with with one arm. He’s going to be a great one.

I guess the big question is what’s changing with the goaltending next year? Having a revolving door in net when it comes playoff time is getting really old.
