A goalie, a goalie...My Kingdom for a goalie!
Good season, some highs (glimpses into future, G, Ghost, Provy), some lows (glimpses to the past)
and a bonus playoff birth.
Last summer we would have been happy with this result.
Not sure where I stand on Hakstol experiment, when I see Gallant having VGK run through walls every shift, shift in shift out.

That performance by Cooter was legendary. Loved seeing how emotionally hurt Provorov was after the game. Any man that puts his heart into something that fully is going to be breaking down. Unbelievable efforts by them. Coots, G, and Provy are the heart and soul of this team. Can't wait til we get some more talent on this squad.
Shout out to MacDonald for having a great series. Much respect. |

So, I know Giroux did well at wing this season, but how much of that was from him being fully healed? Moving G back to the middle might be a decent way to solve the 3C issue. G, Coots, Patrick is a pretty decent looking 1,2,3 at center. They have decent wingers at the NHL level and in the system and it mightbe easier to find a higher end winger in free agency than a center. Thoughts? - Lexington Flyer
I think keeping Giroux at wing allows for you to get the most talent in the top 6 as possible. |

Correct. Giroux was blatantly cross-checked at his back right in front of Murray and the ref. - arichardson22
That was such an awesome hit, don't think Hagelin expected Giroux to take him out like that. Then What was up with Kessel. If you are going to go after a guy go after him ffs. He looked like a 9 year old picking a fight a recess, what a wussy! |

I think that's a little unique as every one of those players was basically playing with a chip on their shoulder all year.
We will see what happens after this year. Because then it will be about sustaining that play while losing players and finding new ones and seeing if prospects develop. |

I would slap Filppula's A on his jersey next season. - nastyflyergirl
I wanted an "A" on Coots last summer. Than the locker room voted Filppula and Mac get them. I was openly pissed. Of course all I heard was "You know the players voted, right? They would know better than anyone..." |

Any confirmed injuries yet other than the torn MCL for Coots? - opeth_pa
Gudas has an injury to his guts. They can't be found. |

If Eric Staal could be had for say a second round pick, would any of you hockeybuzz GMs be interested?
1 year remaining at 3.5 mil.

No. Despite his 05/06 season and postseason, he just doesn't have "it" to me. Not saying he's Ales Hemsky or Olli Jokinen, but I just don't see him as a difference maker despite his numbers. |

Who can we trade Gudas to? I'm thinking we might be able to get Draisaitl out of Edmonton for Gudas and a pick...

I don't think Minnesota gives him up for a 2nd round pick, though.
He was their leading scorer last year and is on a cheap deal. It will likely require more than a 2nd.

Seriously, I feel like we could have gotten Hall for this 2 years back.
Arizona's probably losing Schenn, so they need another big right-handed turnover machine to replace him. |

He scored 42 goals last year, while shooting 17%.
Doubtful Staal hangs those types of numbers again. |

Bill "blatantly knocked Couturier's skates out from under "? Watch the replay. His stick got the puck and then his feet were taken out..that is currently legal in the NHL. |

I just hope they figure out the top 6 this summer. They have #1 dman, a second pairing dman, 4 3rd pairing guys, and I believe a top 4 dman sitting in the press box yesterday. I know Bill mentioned de Haan on Twitter. Get AMac to 3rd pairing where he belongs. - ravishingone
I think they have the top six forwards set. G, Jake, TK, Simmer, Patrick and Coots. The rest are fairly interchangeable. Pretty sure Hexy will do what he's done the last few summers; draft and sign cheap UFAs to plug holes. |

Yeah.
i would almost rather use a 1st rounder and get a young NHL roster center. Just using an example, Calgary has said they want a first rounder, would they give you a young center like Jankowski who is 23 and showed some solid promise this year or Sam Bennett who is 21? |

The Devils got the Hart Trophy winner for a dman who is average at best.
What a one sided laughable trade that was. |
