If vecchionne couldn’t crack this years squad why would you think he will next year? Guy is 25 already I believe. NAK unless proven otherwise appears to be s much less disciplined version of Taylor Leier. He’ll get a shot to crack the roster but these guys aren’t moving any kind of needle
- Just5

I don't think him not being here means that he couldn't have been here. NAK will get a shot to carve out an NHL role, something Leier has struggled to do. I think NAK is more creative than Leier.

Depth is about the only thing that is going to move the needle for the Flyers. Once they get production from young depth forwards they will be sitting pretty.

was at the game, tried to keep it as lively as possible with "let's go flyers" chants. not sure if it seemed a bit more charged on TV or not.

i agree throwing cans and poop on the ice is totally busch league, but man i was fairly furious (and drunk) when that non tripping call/go ahead goal happened.

pretty much on par with most on here....many of our players just didnt show. we need a couple upgrades we can't find in house. it will be interesting to see what Hextal does.

LOL@ Angelo and the morning crew running a "should we fire Hakstol" poll.

But seriously, how the frank was that not tripping?

Gudas really does need to go and as much as it would be nice to have a rh shot in the group, they have 3 guys who can comfortably play the right side. I’d move Gudas, let Manning walk, sign an older vet to be the 7D and roll with

There are some options if they really need a RH. Christian Folin is a guy I'd be okay with. Of course, they could always make a run at John Carlsson, who should have been a Flyer anyway. No interest in Mike Green.

Letang is a POS. Blatant cross check that could have put Couturier's head into the post, and then a trip that could have led to Couturier hitting his head on the ice.

Couturier is going to need a few months to heal up. He had a great season, and then followed it up with an amazing series. I think he's gained the respect of the entire hockey world with his showing.

Moving Simmonds isn't going to be enough. I don't think Hextall will fire Hakstol. I think he really likes him. If I'm Hextall, I'm targeting a team like Montreal or Detroit before the draft. For Voracek, I'm looking for a drouin and their first round pick. No I'm not saying to get John Drouin, he's just an example of a package that I would want to acquire to start.

I agree and patience needs to be shown to Morin, Hagg, and Sanheim. They will develop if given the time to do so.

Ah yes the public funded stadium scam. Billionaire owners like in Calgary threatening to move the team unless the city/citizens pony up cash.

Its about time everyone becomes wise to the scam.

Aren't you sick your team drafted Matt Murray and Jake Guentzel when Anthony Stolarz and Tyrell Goulbourne were available? More evidence of the incompetence of your Organization.
- PLindbergh31

Come on man, all teams have players they hit and miss on. What about the Penguins drafting Teddy Blueger instead of Ghost? they took Sam Lafferty when they could have taken Lindblom. they took Kasperi Kapanen when they could have taken David Pastrnak. every team can go thru this exercise on the positive and negative side. Being able to draft Crosby and Malkin helps A LOT.

Not saying it was ok at all but Pierre made it out to be a hail storm when someone I know that was there said it was maybe 5 cans and actually not near the pens bench but more near refs.
- J35Bacher

There was a lot, it seemed to me, and sitting near the glass, I was sprayed by the beer left in some of the cans thrown. I don't think they should serve anything in cans or bottles at playoff games. Drunks with bad aims can hurt people.

And the Pens fans who threw hats for their hat trick should be glad the Philadelphia fans' reputation is overstated. If I were a gibrone there's three heads I'd have cracked happily at that point.

so Gudas tried to sabotage the series by taking out Coots in practice, Coots plays out of his mind. Gudas gets pissed and decides to pass the puck to the Pens to tie the game.

What is all the hate for Gudas? He appears to be an overachiever who sets his mind to something and completes the task.

Can you believe the Penguins drafted Eric Tangradi ahead of PK Subban, and then took Kevin Vellieux ahead of Wayne Simmonds, and then 4 more players ahead of Jamie Benn ALL IN THE SAME DRAFT!!! What piss poor management they must have.

Oh yes, soooooooooooo in my head. See you ladies next year. I call BS on Coots having a torn MCL. I think they are just trying to paint him up as a war hero for next year. That is all! Enjoy your tee times. I'll be back to troll you next year.

I am still dumbstruck at Laughton being a first round pick. But then, the NY Rangers drafted Hugh Jessiman, he of the two NHL games, 12th overall. If you look at that 2003 draft there are a number of players chosen after him who the Rangers missed out on.

The problem with Gudas is that he's a bad puckhandler, a bad skater, and a bad decision maker. His main asset is his physical play.

He was directly responsible for the turnovers (with ample time to make a play) the led to the 3rd and 4th goals, which ultimately turned the tide of the game. That's his season in a nutshell.

When he's not being physical, which he toned down after his ridiculously stupid head chop, he's not effective.

Of all the things we admire about Snider, the one that strikes me is that he found private funding for both the Spectrum and the Core States/First Union/Wachovia/Wells Fargo Center.

Gudas during most of his Flyers career was a much better puck handler than given credit for. I think the hitting isn't as big of a deal as his puck management. When he is on his game he is good at breaking out of the zone. That didn't happen a lot this year and it certainly didn't happen a lot in Game 6. I would bet they are better off value wise of seeing if he plays better next year, but obviously he isn't part of the long term future so if Hextall can move him for something worth it he should. I really wouldn't mind a good depth forward for him

He’s not a bad skater at all. I get nervous when the puck is on his stick any more than 2 seconds. He’s the only RH stick the flyers can count on next year on the roster right now. I don’t really see them moving on from him. His physical presence was noticeable in this series and served the flyers well. Wish Hagg had been in there earlier which hak should get heat for. His physical presence helped too.
