Has any team ever in playoff history given up 8 goals and won the game? I can't think of one time that's worked.
We are trying to sell our house near the beach in LA (think: about a mile above the Baywatch beach for those old enough to remember). I accidentally hit button 5 on my sat radio and the game came on and it was 4-4 after two. poop. I needed to kill about three hours before I could go home to watch the epic win right? After letting my 6 year old drive the golf cart all over Riviera CC while we played about 4 holes in no specific order, I got the urge to check my phone. Then I got the urge to puke.

I’ll be interested to hear Hextalls state of the team. I’m sure it will mostly be platitudes. Hoping the press can push him on the bottom six, what he intends to do with Gudas and Manning. What he plans on doing with Neuvy. |

Declined to speak - nastyflyergirl
Because Hakstol was still staring mercilessly at him. Radko was petrified.
In all seriousness, I've always like what Gudas brought: His physical play and his cannon of a shot. But he has always been a serious liability in his own end when the puck is on his stick. Failed clears, turnovers, bad icings. You can't pin the loss on him alone but 2 goals being directly related to Gudas gaffes is a momentum changer.
I'd be happy to see Myers and Morin up next year for the physical play. If Gudas gets the door to make room for them, I'm OK with that. I'd rather have a rookie learning the hard way not to do the failed clears, turnovers, and bad icings than have a veteran guy who is a constant liability with the puck in his own end.

Overall, I am VERY upbeat about the future of the Flyers.
Here is why:
1. I think Hexy is a smart GM and has others in the org who get the way the new world works with cap-ology INCLUDING Clarkie and even Homer.
2. We are LOADED with picks and prospects. We are one of the FEW teams that could pair two first rounders for something special. I personally like OEL from AZ to make a sick D. Note: he was a plus for the second 1/2 of the season on a DOORMAT of an AZ team and we have the money to pay him.
3. Our problem is in goal. Stolie has been screwed by circumstance and injury. No excuses but I could see him in a backup role next year. Cater Hart is the real deal but see point 1. Hexy is smart and wont rush him. We need him sooner than later.
4. We Have Letera and Filpula coming off the cap at close to 10m and 5m more reportedly being added to the ceiling. Our door is open. Now is the time to start getting real. A 3-line scoring threat team with at least 4 rock-solid D-men.
5. Ghost and Provo DRASTICALLY improved their plus minus this year and they are kids. Can Provo buy me a beer? I don't think so legally. Kids aren't supposed to lead the NHL in d-goals nor should the other one have like 70 points. We've never had it this good. Sanheim isn't chopped liver either as he could get us ANYTHING we want in trade and or develop into another killer on the blue line in time. Remember, these kids learn to score first and keep the puck out second.
6. I will admit I was a "trade Couts" guy ONLY to get a premium player. Now he's a premium player signed a premium price.
7. If cap room is needed, Gudas could be moved with a sweetener to a team that needs the ceiling. A-Mac not so much but he isn't as terrible to my eyes as the metric guys suggest.
I hate the Pens. They just happen to be a better team right now. They are a lousy franchise historically. They Flyers aren't. Their window will close soon. The Flyers is just opening. |

Hextall is not going to tip his hand. There is going to be an evaluation process and a strategy planned. I doubt that will be in place when he addresses the media in the near future.

you are a Flyers fan and you accidentally found the game on satellite radio? - nastyflyergirl
Have you ever been driving a 6 year old around town?
I didn't mean to hit station 5 (NHL Network on Sirius) NOR did I think the game would be on as I NEVER listen to NHL games on the radio. I watch them on the Center Ice Package - specifically the Flyers which I record.

Are you sure? We took on 3 years of this stiff? I thought it was last year and this one.
Whatever. Buy him out. I'd rather play a kid and let him grow into the role like Giroux and Couts. |

Obviously he’s not going to name names but there will be things said that will give an idea of what he’s thinking. I’m sure we will hear if we can improve our team we will do what we can for now and the long term blah blah blah.
If he comments on needing more speed etc then I would hope he wants to revamp bottom 6.
Of course it will be all speculation by HB and such until we see actual moves. |

In terms of generalizations I think we already know what he is thinking. I don't see him moving from his core philosophy of building through the draft. I think we all know what areas they need to get better in.

Sorry for sharing details of my life today. I didn't see the posted rule "never share a detail of your life on this forum or jealous trolls will malign you"
You should root for every Philly boy (or girl, or NastyGirl...for that matter) to do well. Do you not want me to tell you which NHL players I get to play golf with next? |

We don't have seasons thus there's no need to clean gutters of leaves. Moreover, I had mesh installed over my gutters which nicely keep crap out of them but lets rain into them on the RARE event that it rains in LA. |

poopty so far. 74 days on the market and no offers. Everything else is selling or in escrow.
The house has everything a Flyers fan could want. I love redoing houses out here but I think the real estate market has a come-up-ance coming soon. A buddy of mine from CHA (fill in hate for my private school education next) who lives in a VERY nice CT area near New Caanan hasn't sold a house (his wife is an agent) in a year. Donald SH*THOLE's" so-called tax cuts have made 1%-percenters in non-Trump-voting Blue States suck it. We don't have good enough lobbyists, I guess. Scary however.
Maybe I can buy again on the next dip. CBS News reports 10/11/18 will mark the longest BOOM economy EVER in US history. Real estate has BOOMED since late 09. That's a long time. Nothing goes up 20% per year EVERY YEAR just like NO TEAM stays competitive in a cap world EVERY YEAR. Windows open. Windows close. The Flyers window is VERY OPEN. Can the Rangers say that? I don't think so (it felt good to crap on the Rangers there for a second).... |
