Letang didn't "dive" at him and certainly didn't trip him with his body/arm/shoulder. Seems like this rule doesn't address normal stick checks. Letang got puck first with his stick, his stick tripped Couturier. The above rule ignores that scenario. - buckster2342
Rule 57.1 basically states a trip is a trip it doesn't matter if you got the puck first. |

That's how I interpreted it with the change. Oh well, whatever. |

I didn't see the dive portion you posted in the version of the rulebook I was looking at. |

That was from an article on NHL.com referencing some of the rule changes from a few seasons ago. |

Murray was horrible in game 2. - MattStrat
Murray let up one bad goal in that game and a second that's questionable, but I really don't want to keep splitting hairs. I'm not sure what else Murray needs to do for people to be sold on him.
I'd argue goaltenders take the longest to develop/acclimate to the NHL than any other position and he's done it at lightning speed.
So far this series he's bailed the Pens out more than they've bailed him out. |

Well, as has been pointed out about Coots, if you can't play with a torn MCL, you're just a wussy looking for sympathy...or something. I'm sure people run marathons with torn MCLs daily. (frank)ing babies. |

When I was a kid we didn't even have MCL's. We just took our knees off and crawled uphill to school! |

I'm sold on Murray. Always have been. Said I had confidence he would get back to his consistent ways in the original post. |

He should be thankful that he has an MCL to tear. Hell, he has two!
Back in my day, if our leg impacted us, we cut it off and left it for the wolves. AND THAT'S HOW WE LIKED IT! |

Hell, we didn't have anything to cut them off. We just let the wolves gnaw them off! |

If not, then he clearly doesn't care. Trade the bum for a real player. |

This. I don't know why they called the guentzel trip /voracek embellishment earlier tho. |

"Rule 57 – Tripping
The rule relating to "Tripping" will be revised to specifically provide that a two minute minor penalty will be assessed when a defending player "dives" and trips an attacking player with his body/arm/shoulder, regardless of whether the defending player is able to make initial contact with the puck.
But, in situations where a penalty shot might otherwise be appropriate, if the defending player "dives" and touches the puck first (before the trip), no penalty shot will be awarded. (In such cases, the resulting penalty will be limited to a two-minute minor penalty for tripping.)"
This is from NHL.com. Am I just completely misunderstanding this? The second paragraph seems to be referencing a trip on a breakaway, the first any diving trip? - Ftown19125
The misinformation that came out of that trip is (frank)ing awesome. "HE GOT THE PUCK FIRST, NO TRIP!"

Can’t blame Giroux. Hockey is violent if you commit to a hit pretty hard to change your mind in a split second. |

Kessel eats nothing but hot dogs.
Voracek uses a pork chop to comb his fair.
I think it's obvious what the better food is. |
