Hammond is a sieve right now. I'm turning the game off at this point.

Bill Meltzer is such a whiner. Dude is always whining about missed penalties, but never mentions the ones the Flyers get away with.

Letang had some scummy plays today but the game was poorly officiated all around so that’s to be expected I guess. Just glad to have the series behind us. The Flyers really woke up after the Game 4 embarrassment (big ups to Couts who’s absurdly underrated) and I think it was starting to get to us.

Man I really hope Malkin doesn’t have a serious knee injury. We can’t afford to miss him for long. Here’s hoping the Wash-Columbus series goes to 7!

Not to mention the Flyers failed to score on all their chances, because that doesn't matter.

Congrats on the series win. Sucks to see the Flyers go out but the Pens were clearly the better team and I’m a little surprised they got it to 6 games. See you next season.

They took a page out of the Pens playbook from last game. Kept looking for the perfect play.

I don’t think they had any idea what they wanted to do.

I'm sure it was frustrating to watch. That's how we felt last game.

I could have seen a trip and diving call. He did seem to go down too hard for what Letang did.

No idea if it’s a penalty if you get the puck first

- sditulli

Before the 06 rule changes it was not a penalty if you got puck first. Since 06 the puck is a non factor, a trip is a trip. They didn't call it because it was a dive.

Hey, good series guys. I like the Flyers direction but they weren’t beating the Pens this year. Although not a frequent participant, I enjoy the banter on this board. Good luck in round 2. You’re all on a pretty special ride. Enjoy it!

Sheahan was amazing today in so many aspects. i cant see a long run if malkin is truly out, but man if he comes back. this center depth could really start to click. brassard doesnt have a ton of tangible results and he definitely needs to shoot more, but hes starting to come on with his line too. not a ton of quality chances, but him and sheary have been controlling the puck a lot it seems. them clicking is big because it allows other lines to be kept together.

I thought so too, but the rule was only changed for breakaways. You can't trip someone on a breakaway even if you get the puck, but in normal play if you get the puck first it's not a penalty.

I was going to make a comment about Sheahan too.......Feds Stammer got that one right. IMO Sheahan has been pretty damn close to Bones's equal. Maybe better in some aspects.

He was so misused and abused in Detroit. He was made a pure grinder. Only top nine he really got was defensive winger or third line face off man.

There’s a reason he was a first round pick.

wins faceoffs. was big on the PK especially without hags. good possession. dedicated defensively. just a solid all around game when they had to have it from him.

really just need malkin to be healthy. then theres some decisions to make as to how to construct the lines beyond the first one of crosby guentz and horns

He does throw a biased comment in here & there, but all in all I think he's probably the best blogger for a pregame blog & game review - hes pretty thorough (even with his now & Again cross eyed glasses ).

I like Sheahan’s game more than Bonino’s TBH. I think he’s all around the better player. Sheahan’s defensive game is a lot better than Bonino’s and although their offensive games are totally different, I think they’re about comparable in effectiveness.

I LOVE the Sheary-Brassard-Rust line. They’re due for an offensive explosion. Could be a real problem for teams if we make a long run.
