Are you watching the games or do you just feel the need to make devils advocate commentary? The reffing has been a total joke! And I'm not being a homer......it's been abysmally one sided!
I remember in the first game when we actually were on the power play and Leo got high-sticked, drawing blood. No call, can't put a team on a 5-3! So you look at the totality of the non calls like that and the BS calls like Bozaks "slash" that broke their stick.....and you gotta think....is the fix in?
As for the puck off the glass penalty vs the off side? You can't definitively see the puck going off the glass or not despite what Bobby Mack says.....yet the Boston player was 4 inches offside...and Boston officiating can't get the proper feed to Toronto's coaching to review it?

Yeah that was my bad....realized after I posted....but that said the minutes are deceptive because our pk has been brutal.
Point is for a team 6th overall in pims during the season, they seem to be getting a clear homers discount during the playoffs!

He certainly does not suck. He does make some mistakes, but his passing a and skill is fairly evident.

Don't know who was more upset over that game last night....Bruins fans or the Toronto Media!? T.O. media was hoping and praying that we'd blow the game so they could have stuff and negativity to write about such as "here we go again" or the Boston curse"! I'm sure they all had there articles pre-written just in case it had happened. SN broadcasters are no different! I can't take anymore of Hughson and Simpson. Soon going watch the games on mute! I'd rather listen to Jack Edwards than those two morons!

It's just that the majority are lazy, and another 4-1 collapse would be very easy to wax poetic about.

Actually 4th lowest penalized team is a bit misleading. The Leafs were (relatively speaking) the most penalized team in the NHL in 2017-18. They do not employ fighters on the team so the absence of fighting majors affect the stats. In terms of short handed situations vs power plays - in games played, (which should be the stat that counts) Leafs led the NHL in the differential. It appears that either Leafs/Babcock are either not well liked by refs, or Leafs employ much dirtier players than the ballerinas playing for the Bruins.

Nylander taking optional skate with all the healthy scratches minus Martin. That would be a beyond horrible decision.. I can’t imagine they would ever take out Nylander for Martin though.

I would think that in terms of future value to the team and the impending contracts for Nylander and Marner- it will reflect that Marner is worth (at least at this point) significantly more to the team than Nylander.

In a perfect world, the NHL wants the Leafs to get to the 3rd round of the playoffs and have two American teams in the finals.

If the Leafs are out the NHL loses a ton of views, the sheer size of the Leafs fan base added with the fact there are tons of fans that tune in because their obsession of wanting the leafs to lose.

Keeps the large fanbase tuned in, then the finals have two American teams so Americans actually watch it

If/when we are put out of this series we'll see a whole Summer of articles such as "What's wrong with the Leafs", "has Babcock lost the room" or "is the locker room divided' or which player needs to be traded or does this player want out! Just an endless Summer of BS from the media!

The ratings for a long playoff run would be pure gold for media companies. Rogers and Bell own the Leafs, games are their product. If the Leafs were in the finals they'd be partying like Wolf of Wall Street.
